Sword Coast Legends
Sword Coast Legends

« Sword Coast Legends is a solid loot crawl with more options than most games of its kind. It may not be the Dungeons & Dragons simulator many were hoping for, but it works well as just a straight video game. »
« The game was promised as a true D&D-Experience, which in fact it isn’t. The RPG-rules are changed in a casual way, so in the end SCL feels more like a dragon-age-experience within a nice D&D-setting. If you can accept that, the game offers a good story-campaign with party-based combat, which is fun. On top you can create your own dungeons and quests, and play it with friends, including one player as a dungeon-master. Sounds good, but the creative power of the editor is not that big as in the classic Neverwinter-Series. »
« If you don't expect the promised but mostly missing D&D rules, this can be a very entertaining RPG. Otherwise you will be disappointed. The editor is useless (for now). »
« It's full of bright ideas, and had some amazing potential, but the unripe Dungeon Master Mode will need the community and some continued support from the developers to truly shine. What remains is a solid adventure, that could have been better, but it's still satisfying for rpg fans. »
« Sword Coast Legends is a comfortable return to the D&D rules and universe, but oversimplified combat and a repetitive feel to dungeons and quests keep this game from being great. »
« With a proper DM, Sword Coast Legends feels every bit like the pen and paper game come to life. On the other hand, running modules or playing through the 40-hour single player game makes it feel like more of a standard fare dungeon crawler than a Dungeons & Dragons game. »
« Sword Coast Legends offers up a solid version of Dungeons & Dragons, with a campaign and setting that were immediately appealing to me and plenty of user content already filling the community. This sort of content will be enormously valuable in giving Sword Coast Legends life beyond its campaign. However, limited tools hold this title back from greatness on the editing front, while its clear Diablo and Dragon Age influences may rub D&D purists the wrong way. »
« This is a great entry point if you’re looking to jump on the D&D bandwagon as it does a good job of easing the player into this deep and dense universe. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Wayyy too overpriced based on how mediocre it is ... but people seem to buy it mostly because there is no p2w (yet) ... which is a very low standard. The rest is just mediocrity and some aspects are so bad that it looks like a joke. »
« Honestly, this game is an underrated gem that got devastated by critics and fanboys who were expecting the game to play exactly like Baldur's Gate. On release the DM mode was kind of underpowered and wonky, but the core story and gameplay have always been frankly excellent. This game deserved a much better fate than it got and hopefully one day the fanboys will actually give it a chance and realize what they missed out on. »
« Very nice, pretty little rpg. I must say it has delicious atmosphere and absolutely brilliant characters (mostly due to professional voice acting). In some terms it stands out over the Pillars of eternity. Only thing is it gets boring here and there, and is quite short. But for the price is a good quality. Very unfair score, its a true 7.5/10 »
« So disappointed. I waited for two years to play this game after I heard about it coming out. The release date kept getting delayed. Which was a bad sign I know. It finally comes out and I download it for the $19.99 standard game. I am sad to say it is a huge disappointment. First of all, I couldn't even play it because there was pink box filling up the middle of the screen. Even if I could play it the game is still terrible. The problem isn't with the graphics, I understood this was an old school game, that's why I wanted to play it in the first place, but it takes forever to load, the font is small, the playability is bad. It clunky and unimaginative. I guess the old style, Baldur's Gate, RPG action games are gone forever... »
« This games is honestly more like a 7.8/10 but it has received so much unjustified hate that I had to put a 10 to help balance it. This game really is quite good, the story is enjoyable, the combat good, and the atmosphere and lore is almost gold standard. Did I mention their is a lot of voice acting, that's right you don't have to read a large novel in small font of your screen, instead you can enjoy the game. Some people don't like how the rules are not strict and archaic as the board game. But honestly this is much much much better because it IS a computer game and not a board game. Best of all the story is linear, not some garbage gimmick where you have to pick choices you don't like and miss out on story you need to replay to see. A good story is linear, just like any book or movie. »
« Most of the negative reviews for this game come from fanboys of the old games. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with them but this is a entirely different game and shouldnt be slammed just because it is different than other D&D titles. I for one loved the story, player development, and while the graphics aren't great the are definitely on the higher end for this genre in general. There campaign is decent, I usually don't pay attention to the story but I did for this. Along with the free expansion that comes with it. There are also a handful of good mods made by the player community you can access and play together with friends. I also likes solo campaign where I got to develop AND use all the characters classes instead of having to play through multiple times. Sadly the dev company went under about a year ago but the remaining bugs are pretty minimal, none that I've found are gamebreaking anyway. For the price you can now get it at it's worth picking up for sure if you are an group rpg fan! »
« This is Neverwinter Nights 3. Its a tragedy this game got **** on in official reviews. The core game is solid. Great environments, voice acting, character models. AAA quality and storytelling. The editor was an addition, not the game. »
