Torchlight III
Torchlight III

« If you are new to the Torchlight franchise then Torchlight III is an excellent jumping on point. At $30 it's a great binge game to play with friends while we all wait on the next-gen onslaught that's just around the corner. But, if you're a hardcore ARPG fan looking for something deeper then you may be better served elsewhere, namely by Torchlight II. »
« Clever class design accepted, Torchlight III doesn’t offer tremendous innovation or nuance in its systems or gameplay. The gratuitous destruction is often great fun, right up until the hour marker when it’s not, and it all starts to feel a bit tedious. Thankfully, there’s always a new magic sword to collect, a respec to try out, a new character class to discover, or a dungeon to delve. Torchlight III is an approachable action/RPG that’s especially welcoming to newcomers, or simply players who don’t want to focus too hard on their evening’s entertainment. Repeat conquerors of heaven and hell may wish to look elsewhere, but if your desires for fantasy destruction are more about high-octane action, Torchlight III rarely disappoints. »
« Torchlight 3 will scratch any basic RPG itch for adventure, loot, and fantasy, but even with a heckin’ doggo sidekick at its side, it feels a bit too old-fashioned to stand out from the rest of the pack. »
« Torchlight III is a great entry in the series as it doesn’t explicitly try to be exactly like its predecessors. Instead, it attempts to do new things using classes and relics to personalize the adventure along with a few accessible leveling systems and skill trees. It all works for the most part, but it’s a design that doesn’t allow for the deepest amount of customization. Sure, building a fort and collecting loot with my friends is fun, but there has to be some balance and short term goals that make each level up and new area discovered worth it. »
« Torchlight III makes no attempt at all to introduce anything new to the genre and this lack of originality is disappointing after 8 years of waiting. It’s quite easy to point out a couple of other flaws (e.g. the shallow story), but I chose not to dwell on them, because the game delivered exactly what I expected from it – around 20 hours of enjoyable hacking and slashing that doesn’t engage the mind too much. « Though the experience is hampered by bugs, glitches, and a few design issues, the snappy and moreish combat, the treasure trove of stats and skills, and the delightfully chaotic co-op play make Torchlight 3 a must-have for anyone looking for more ARPG goodness. »
« Quotation forthcoming. »
« Developer Echtra Games and publisher Perfect World Entertainment have released Torchlight III. The game has a lot going for it, from its stylized graphics to the overall feel of combat. But it is currently missing a spark that the previous two entries in the series captured. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Torchlight 3 a very awful game. I very rarely dislike video games as much, even games that I generally dislike usually I found something good to say, admire or enjoy. This is not the case here, the game is just awful in every single aspect. There are in my opinion no redeeming qualities to this game, even the cute cartoony art style that it has looks extremely dated for such a recent game. Anything else like combat, level design, progression, story and pretty much everything else is just totally awful. »
« I played this game in 2022 so i didn't met any of bugs that make game unplayable. So i be able to beat it. Am i happy with it? No. Will i play it again? No. Locations. There are 3 acts in the game. Like in magority of others diablo 2 clones. Yes locations in different acts are different. But not exactly different. All locations are just big rooms drawn in different style. Nothing unique there. Also there are some amount of dungeons. And dungeons are exactly the same in each act. And the same means that locations copypasted. Enemies. There are poor varity of enemies. For sure every separate act has it's own unique enemy type based on region. Forest has goblos. Swamps has maggots. Mountains has constructs and vertues. But the most commot enemy type in the game is goblin. Yes for the whole game you will kill the same goblins as you killed on level 1. Wow. Characters. I played only mage. So i can talk only about this class. And i can't say nothing special. There are small amount of class skills. Is it bad? I don't know. Games should be different and not every person like PoE/Wolcen like skills leveling systems. So i ok with Tochlight 3 system. Only one bad thing here. Spell damage depends only on weapon damage. So if you want your spells beat harder take a bigger sword. Now you are happy mage with a sword. Great design. Problems. Fort is a number one problem in the game. In action rpg game i difenetly don't want to return to my base every 20 minutes to craft, build or do any other activity. I want to play the game. Items and item's drops. There is something wrong with legendary items drop rate. Legendary items everywhere. But no varity of legandary items. I found only 3 different sets, but found them multiple times, and every new item just renew stats of previous one. Geometry. I played mage and my primary damage spell was a beam of light(can't remember an original title), and i found that on certain angles between me and enemy my spell doesn't make any damage and on other angles it melt enemies. There are a lot of small issues and graphics issues but who cares. Sad and dead game. »
« No trade with friends, no move without attack.. (except on still pressing another key). On dangerous situation if i try to run and a mob under my mouse, my char will auto attack him... »
« There are a lot of small game design issues (like the fort, the linear world, skill progression and build customisation, fast travel, map resets, lack of story), and still some minor bugs (optimisation, pet is disappearing, levels dont render, enemies get stuck, you get stuck)... ...but it's still fun! It has the torchlight feeling to it, animations and sound are great, gameplay is snappy. I wish there was a bit more variety in environments, skills, enemies, bosses and gear. One playthrough takes around 20h, so you really can't complain about cost per gametime. There is no evolution to TL2, but I guess if you liked the predecessor, you may like this game too (if not for the fishing). It's a shame the game is now abandoned and there is no modding support. »
« Tochlight 3 is a good game action rpg like diablo rpg skill blast plus adventire »
« They created woke propaganda, and attached a beloved franchise to it in the last minute. »
