Gameplay de Torment: Tides of Numenera

LEVEL (Czech Republic) 100/100

« Great RPG depends mainly on the conversations and colorful bizarre world into which it takes you …while it is not focused on combat and other traditional elements. [Issue#273] »

CGMagazine 95/100

« Torment is the purest expression of Infinity Engine RPGs we will ever see in the modern age. »

GamingTrend 95/100

« Torment: Tides of Numenera is a modern take on classic computer RPGs that tells an engrossing and original story, meditating on complex themes of identity in a strange world that just begs to be explored. While the combat seems a bit forced and uninspired, it doesn’t detract too much from the rest of the experience, and as a result I cannot recommend it highly enough. »

Game Debate 95/100

« Time will tell if it hits the market with the impact that Planescape: Torment had. I would guess not, just due to the games industry being a different beast these days. But in quality of writing, and in its ability to make you care about characters and force you kicking and screaming to actually think about things like good and evil, and the value of life, Tides of Numenera is every bit on a par with its illustrious ancestor. »

ICXM 95/100

« Torment: Tides of Numenera is an infinitely complex game which no review can truly capture. The sheer number of side quests, characters, dialogue choices and endings require that the game be played multiple times. Brian Fargo and his team have created an absolutely stunning experience—I just wish it was as technically sound on Xbox One as it is on Windows 10. »

The Games Machine 92/100

« It took almost twenty years, but finally Planescape: Torment has a worthy successor. Torment: Tides of Numenera has a distinct and unique personality, thanks to a ruleset created by Monte Cook, the story written by the amazing trio McComb-Fargo-Avellone, and an incredible freedom to approach the game. If you have even a small amount of love for CRPGs, this is the game you don't want to miss this year. »

Games Master UK 92/100

« Wonderful writing, deep quests, and the ability to truly shape your character make for a quality RPG. [Apr 2017, p.78] »

IGN Italia 91/100

« It's Torment. It's back. If you have the courage and strength to face the mental pressure, as I do, the result is a memorable experience. »

« Nigdy w życiu się tak nie zawiodłem na grze komputerowej. Ta gra jest moim najgorszym koszmarem. Tyle czekania na nic. »

« I seriously regret I gave my 20 USD as an original Kickstarter backer to inXile for this POS "game" which in reality is basically a boring endless book of slop. I can't believe they had to actually write all those endless walls of text themselves and didn't generated them with LLM, cause they didn't exist back then. Basically this game is something you can expect to be vomited by LLM. »

« 1,2h played // Please take note that I barely played the intro I really enjoy this type of cRPG, but for some reason I found the writing in the intro to be a bit dragging and full of strange mannerisms. It didn't hook me. There is also not enough environment art showing what is happening, so textual descriptions happen often to cover what you aren't seeing and give the impression that the team was not able to work on more art to show you what is happening, such as when you are falling. I think Pillars was more successful in playing homage to older works such as Fallout and Baldurs', but without repeating their limitations and still being very text-heavy. Sound effects and music left me intrigued for more and seemed very good-quality, the Tides system seems to be an interesting morality choice and the characters and Numenera lore is very interesting, breaking the usual medieval fantasy scenario. Overall I would not recommend it, but I may keep an eye on future sales or so. »

« What an excellent game, I just dusted it off. Great and original world creation, amazing mechanics, story driven. Huge amount of dialogues and text, amazing lore, secrets, choices matter, great story and this music! Excellent companions! Great NPC characters. The game deserves more recognition! An excellent old-style RPG game. PS And yes, the ending could have been better! »

Cheevohntr 9/10

« Really really great game but the amount of times I had to safety save before every skill check was insane I do like that you didn’t have to fight a final boss tho »

Oshyer 9/10

« I found a child hidden in the shadows, frightened but not alone. She has a god in her pocket. His name is Ahl and he is a god of hiding. And from there, the stories spun from this game are entirely unforgettable and entirely my own. This world and its characters will stay with me for a very long time, I still find my mind wandering back to the Ninth World and all the possibilities it contains. I cannot recommend this RPG highly enough, don't skip this experience, »

Barrage 4/10

« I was a huge fan of Planescape: Torment, but I was very disappointed by this spiritual successor. That may partially be because I've never played the Numenera tabletop system. »

erikmalkavian 1/10

« Endless reading game with a little bit of Gameplay. I have NEVER Seen such a dry and boring RPG that InXile Tricked up and got people to Kickstart. A Scam and Trick game! »
