Avis des critiques et joueurs

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)

God is a Geek 65/100

« An ambitious venture for a low-budget indie studio, but one that manages to stand out in the crowd despite its flaws. »

PlaySense 60/100

« A SoulsBorne game with its own twist which turns out to be pretty entertaining, especially when it all comes together. And that is also our main concern; there are plenty of times when things don't come together at all which results in frustrating gameplay. Too bad, because the core of Immortal: Unchained is good. »

4P.de 59/100

« Shooter mechanics in a world that is a conceptual carbon copy of Dark Soul? In theory it could be interesting, but the execution is lackluster and leaves a lot to be desired. »

Impulsegamer 56/100

« Whilst an admirable attempt at offering a fresh take on what is already becoming a fairly staid genre, Toadman Interactive has unfortunately missed the mark when it comes to one of the most crucial elements of making these games work. »

CD-Action 55/100

« Although I’m a huge fan of shooters, I had to force myself to play Immortal: Unchained. The game clumsily tries to marry two formulas: an action game built around firearms and a soulslike. It does some things right – the atmosphere is intriguing, the dismemberment system works fine, boss encounters are done well and the character development system is solid – but it failed in the most important aspect. Immortal’s cardinal sin is its mediocre gunplay, which makes shooting boring and therefore turns firefights into drudgery. [12/2018, p.54] »

Multiplayer.it 50/100

« Immortal: Unchained tries to follow the footsteps of the Souls series, but ends up against a wall. »

XGN 50/100

« Immortal Unchained could have been a great attempt to get its name between action-RPG’s as Dark Souls and The Surge. However, adding guns to the well-known formula didn't save the game from having way too many technical and balance problems during release. »

Eurogamer Italy 50/100

« Immortal: Unchained is a souls like third person shooter game developed and published by Toadman Interactive. The idea of a souls like with guns is amazing, but the way it is developed, it looks like a set of beautiful non-original ideas stuck together. »

Ikelos667 8/10

« After years from my first play, I'm here to say something on this title: I'm really passionate about souls like games, and the reason i bought it is because it is one set in the future and mainly make use of guns. This title does not deserve a 5 has a metascore... I really enjoyed this title, and I know i is not "perfect" as a game, but i think it is worth it. If you like souls like game, give it a try. »

Jilllloyd23 8/10

« Immortal Unchained is not a perfect game but it nails the slow punishing combat of the original dark souls far better than more popular “souls with guns” games such as Remnant:from the ashes. The game design can be punishing to unfun levels as the game goes on but the gameplay, design and different builds are all memorable and interesting. It’s really frustrating that Xbox and PlayStation have delisted this game as it’s so much better than most of what’s on their store. But you can still play it via steam. »

Hackslashshoot 10/10

« I bought this game a while ago ... forgot I even had it. I have been playing Elden Ring for the last 2 years haven't had any desire to play any other game. I found it in my desk drawer and was like meh why not?!! It has been 3 days and I have put 22 hours in. I just beat **** developers were on to something with this bad boy. I have played just about every souls ripoff out there. This one is by far the best. I have no idea why it is not appreciated. It is in my opinion a 10 out of 10. THIS GAME HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM ONLINE PURCHASES Absolute gem!!!!!!!. I have beaten all of them from code vein to salt and santuary . I know these soul ripoffs have balancing issues and areas that are just unfair and dumb. After the 2nd area not so much. No guides or youtube to help so if you need your hand held dont bother. If you enjoy single player action rpgs that will challenge your button mashing skills get this game before it disappears. I have a feeling this game will be on ebay for a stupid amount of money one day »

« is a **** game, boring redundant tedious they took all the **** part of the souls genre and put all together here... is just trash... »

Mondyjoy 1/10

« Tried it, really really wanted to like it but no. Stay away! Guns do nothing, melee do nothing, no stamina, get nearly no "souls" for leveling up "which is expensive!) And levels will not make any difference at all... You got ammo and the enemies EAT your ammo, so what happens after that? Well nothing! You can't do **** They can shoot from the otherside of the map with almost aimbot. Don't run, they will somehow hit anyway. Weapon dmg scale instead and won't do **** since some weapon scale on maybe both so you have to level both. But ya again leveling takes years! I hate this so damn hard. I really tried. I played for about 10 hours and got NOTHING from it. Waste of time. Giving it a 1 because it COULD be good but sadly far from it... »

Arcerdo 3/10

« A dark souls with guns sounded like a good idea, but this is not how you do it. It feels clunky to play, story is utter nonsense that tries to be way too clever for its own good, but keeps tripping over itself. Its biggest flaw, is that it is just plain boring. I had to force myself to finish it, hoping for some form of resolution but instead the ending felt like a slap in the face. It just hurts to play. Skip this one, you'll thank yourself later. »

Souls-Lurk 8/10

« This game is SO underrated! If you love ‘souls’ you need to play this. If you can get past the indie production values, there is a gem **** here. The level design is superb... bettering equivalent souls-like efforts like Nioh, The Surge and LotF... and rivalling From’s games. The game world, atmosphere and lore are also surprisingly good all things considered. Difficulty... very! I’ve hit a few ‘walls’ during my play through and I’d imagine that this has a lot to do with the low review scores. Thing is though, it brought me the closest I’ve been to the way I felt playing Demons Souls all those years ago. Reaching the next obelisk (bonfire/arch stone) with only a sliver of health, no healing items a little else left in my inventory. There are some tense times when you take the next corner hoping it’s a checkpoint and not an enemy with those scan5 resources remaining. Great game. »

« September 2019: The concept of an action RPG shooter, with some Dark Souls mechanics mixed in, sounded very intriguing to me. In my opinion, it mostly worked out quite well. I've spent about 30 hours or so between two different characters and have enjoyed my time. Given that this game comes from a smaller developer, I can look past a lot of the minor shortcomings in the game. I certainly think the game has a lot of good things going for it (i.e. good level design, varied enemy and weapon types, challenging gameplay). However, what is unacceptable to me, is how many times the game crashes. This needs to be fixed immediately and should have been addressed prior to release. I can't get through a 2 hour session now without it crashing at least once. The problem is, it doesn't automatically save your game as you progress from checkpoint to checkpoint unless you manually quit from the options menu. Now, I find myself having to do just that every so often in order to keep from losing all my progress. It's incredibly frustrating to lose 30,000 in bits and 30 minutes of my time, because the game decides to crash. If it weren't for the crashing issue, I'd probably give the game a 7.5, whereas right now it's probably closer to a 6.5. It's unfortunate. It seems as though they rushed release and it resulted in a game brimming with potential, but too unpolished to be considered good. March 2019 Update: The developers have now made many bug fixes, added a New Game +, added more weapons, balanced the weapons and stats, and added a new free DLC called "Mask of Pain". Given these improvements, I've increased my rating to 8.0. If you are an action RPG fan, give this game a shot. »
