Borderlands 3, développé par Gearbox Software et édité par 2K Games, est sorti le 13 septembre 2019. Ce shooter-looter à la première personne se déroule sept ans après les événements de Borderlands 2 et propose à quatre nouveaux Chasseurs de l'Arche de traverser plusieurs planètes pour empêcher Troy et Tyreen Calypso, jumeaux chefs de la secte des Children of the Vault, de s'approprier le pouvoir des Archess extraterrestres. Le jeu repose sur des armes à génération procédurale, un multijoueur coopératif jusqu'à quatre joueurs, des arbres de compétences étendus et de nouvelles mécaniques de déplacement comme le glissement et l'escalade. Disponible sur PC, Mac, consoles PlayStation et Xbox, Google Stadia ainsi que les versions next-gen, il est construit sur Unreal Engine 4 et affichait un prix de 59,99 euros. La presse a salué l'ampleur de son récit et l'amélioration de la formule looter shooter, comme XGN notant qu'il dépasse les attentes de son prédécesseur ou Hobby Consolas le qualifiant de définitif, tandis que certains joueurs évoquent un bon moment global malgré des mécaniques nouvelles inégales ou, sur Steam, une expérience très prolongée et positive.

« SCORE High 8,7/10 very good game, and very underrated here, the gameplay is very good, smooth and fun, the guns are good, the music is amazing in this game, the world and environments are beautiful, the story is good and the characters also, even the sidequests are very funny, i had a lot of fun. there are even big areas in this game that are jus optional that are fun. all of the 4 characters are so much fun to play and so diverse in their combat that i couldnt decide one character i want to stick with. idk where the bad ratings come from, one of the best games i played in my life. »
« This game easily has the best gunplay in the series, its such a shame that everything else just isn't that great. The main story is garbage, horrible villains, and repetitive story beats. Legendry's no longer feel like legendry's because of the massive increase in drop chance. It feels like they took everything that worked for BL2 and improved it, then took everything that didn't work from "The Pre-Sequel" made it worst, then mashed them together. At least the DLC's are pretty good, and don't suffer from the same writing problems of the main game »
« Borderlands 3 est celui qui est le plus pointé du doigts quand à ses antagonistes. C'est sûr que passer après le Beau Jack c'est compliqué, mais personnellement j'ai beaucoup aimé mon aventure. Tyreen et Troy Calypso peuvent paraître creux et bien pâles, mais il faut regarder l'histoire dans son ensemble. Ce sont des personnes qui ont réussi à convaincre une masse de gens à mourir pour eux. Juste à travers des streams ils sont devenus des dieux tout puissants qui gouvernent des masses. J'avoue avoir beaucoup fait le parallèle avec les streamer de nos jours, et au final j'ai trouvé ça encore plus terrifiant, car quand on s'intéresse aux infos cela arrive dans notre monde (à plus petite échelle heureusement). Donc oui ces antagonistes ne sont pas si intéressant, mais c'est le tout qui l'est. Donc oui j'ai aimé le ton donné à ce Borderlands, j'ai adoré les diverses planètes avec leur faune et flore. J'aime aussi les Chasseurs jouable sur ce Borderlands .Mon préféré c'est Fl4k, mais j'aime aussi Moze ou Amara Les DLC valent tous le détour. J'ai une préférence pour "Le Casse du Beau Jackpot" et "Flingues, Amour et Tentacules : Le mariage de Wainwright & Hammerlock". »
« Todos los Borderlands van, en mi opinion, de mejor en mejor. Más variedad, más armas, más malos, suben un toque la dificultad. La verdad que me gustán todos y les doy el puntaje que tienen para reflejar esa mejoría, pero siendo honesto: Son todos un toque lo mismo. Se disfrutan con amigos, solo quizas no vale tanto la pena. »
« The third entry into the mainline borderlands series offers its flashiest and smoothest gunplay yet with a variety of fun builds and abilities that still feel fun to use throughout the game's runtime. I played this game in a group of three and while we did find the game ludicrously easy, it was still funny to run around cracking jokes and making each other laugh while easily mowing through hoards of enemies at a brisk pace. Many people will harshly criticize the plot and writing of this game as being cringey and boring. While the plot is certainly sub-par and not really engaging, the writing has ALWAYS been cringey since Borderlands 2! This is my "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" moment. Are we really going to pretend that the dialogue offered by Handsome Jack, Ellie, and Claptrap wasn't extremely cringey? Like when Handsome Jack says something to the effect of "I bought a diamond covered horse and I'm going to name him Butt Stallion XD" LOLOL that's so funny. As far as the villains go, I agree with most criticisms there. The thing about livestreamers is that they're hated because they are annoying. Not because they are evil or immoral (generally). So when you make your main villains a pair of livestreamers they come across as... annoying. Not compelling. It seems that Borderlands 1 will be forever my favorite in the series as the popularity of Borderlands 2 made that style of writing propogate throughout the series as a main component. One can hardly blame Borderlands 3 for carrying the torch that Borderlands 2 left it. »
« un juego divertidísimo para disfrutar con amigos. Su punto más fuerte es la variedad de armas: es sencillamente masiva, siempre encuentras algo nuevo que dispara de forma loca. Además, el sistema de habilidades y las distintas builds están increíblemente bien implementados, dándote una libertad total para jugar como quieras. Visualmente, esos gráficos cel shading tan característicos de la saga le sientan de maravilla y hacen que todo luzca con mucha personalidad, mientras que la música, aunque no sea una obra maestra, se defiende bien y acompaña el ritmo del juego.Como punto negativo, la historia es un poco confusa y no está del todo bien explicada; es fácil perderse y acabar sin enterarte muy bien de qué está pasando realmente. Sin embargo, si lo que buscas es acción pura, una duración acertada y echarte unas risas en cooperativo, es un juego muy sólido y recomendable. El gunplay es tan satisfactorio que compensa cualquier fallo de guion. Un 8,4 muy merecido por lo adictivo que resulta. »
