NHL 2K6
Publié le 7 septembre 2005 sur Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 et Xbox, NHL 2K6 est une simulation sportive de hockey développée par Visual Concepts et Kush Games et éditée par 2K Sports. Le titre propose une expérience réaliste où le joueur prend part à tous les aspects de la gestion d'une franchise, de la planification des entraînements à l'exécution d'un lancer frappé. Les animations ont été revues pour des mouvements de joueurs plus réalistes, et un système de coaching à la volée permet de prendre des décisions en cours de partie pour influencer la stratégie et l'exécution de l'équipe. Une dimension en ligne est également disponible, offrant la possibilité de défier d'autres joueurs, suivre des statistiques ou rejoindre une ligue.
Le jeu obtient un score agrégé de 70,35. Sur le plan de l'accueil critique, les opinions varient. Operation Sports a salué son réalisme en affirmant que ceux qui cherchent le jeu de hockey le plus réaliste sur n'importe quelle console n'ont pas à regarder plus loin. À l'inverse, AceGamez a regretté le manque d'une bonne gamme de succès, des ralentissements occasionnels et des graphismes seulement légèrement au-dessus de la moyenne. De son côté, un joueur s'exprimant sur Metacritic a estimé que ce titre ne devrait être joué que pour le 750 facile et le 1000 pénible, notant qu'on peut obtenir NHL 10 au même prix ou légèrement plus cher.

« For those looking for the most realistic hockey game on any console, look no further. »
« The lack of a good range of game achievements, the occasional lag and the only slightly above average graphics is about all that I could complain about, but when you put that next to clever AI (that can skate backwards, by the way), icon-based passing, Enforcer players, goalkeeper perspective and commentary better than I've ever heard in a sports title and the complaints are pretty trivial in comparison. »

« This game should only be played for the easy 750 and Pain in the ass 1000. You can get NHL 10 for the same price, or slightly more expensive. Everything about is dated the game also freezes a lot, that it would probably be **** to play when the game was released. »
