C.O.P. The Recruit, développé par VD-Dev et édité par Ubisoft Entertainment, a été publié le 3 novembre 2009 sur Nintendo DS. Ce jeu d’aventure met en scène Dan Miles, un ancien pilote de course clandestin devenu recrue du Criminal Overturn Program (C.O.P.), un programme qui fait de lui un détective de rue chargé de protéger les citoyens de New York face à des menaces à grande échelle. Aux côtés de son mentor, le détective Brad Winter, Dan enquête sur une série d’attentats terroristes dans la ville, jusqu’à l’arrestation injustifiée de Brad qui suspend l’investigation. Pour élucider cette affaire, le protagoniste retourne sous couverture dans le milieu des rues et se retrouve peu à peu pris dans une conspiration mortelle, devant empêcher un attentat catastrophique.
Le titre a reçu une note agrégée de 54.00. Sur le plan critique, le site Vandal a salué que COP The Recruit soit né pour démontrer que les limites existent pour être repoussées, tandis que Gamers’ Temple a jugé le jeu impressionnant sous de nombreux aspects, tout en relevant qu’il a souffert d’un déficit de promotion avant sa sortie. Du côté des joueurs, un utilisateur de Metacritic a estimé le jeu sous-côté en vantant ses graphismes sur DS, mais a regretté qu’il manque totalement de personnalité.
