Astral Chain, développé par PlatinumGames et édité par Nintendo, est sorti sur Nintendo Switch le 30 août 2019. Ce jeu d'aventure et de hack 'n' slash place le joueur dans la peau d'un membre de Neuron, une unité de police spéciale formée dans la ville multiculturelle de l'Ark après l'apparition de portes vers une autre dimension, d'où émergent des créatures dangereuses que les forces de l'ordre classiques ne peuvent affronter. Le titre propose un combat d'action stylisé mêlant affrontements rapides et éléments d'enquête, le joueur combattant aux côtés d'un compagnon contrôlable nommé Legion pour réaliser des attaques coordonnées, des entraves et des actions permettant de vaincre des ennemis et résoudre des défis environnementaux. La durée de la campagne principale est estimée à environ vingt heures et demie, contre quatre-vingt-un heures pour une approche complétiste, et le score agrégé atteint 85,11.
La presse a salué l'expérience proposée, Switch Player évoquant l'un des jeux d'action à la troisième personne les plus confiants et satisfaisants joués depuis un moment, tandis que VGC a qualifié le combat de unique en son genre et d'aventure la plus équilibrée de PlatinumGames. Les avis des joueurs recueillis sont partagés, certains regrettant un setting et un scénario enfantins et démodés, d'autres jugeant le titre génial et incontournable sur la console Nintendo Switch.

« At first I thought this was an underrated game, but seeing the reviews I just realised it is actually OVERrated. It's a cool game and very fun to play, but the story is predictable not that interesting and the general progression feels off. It's the classic "mid" game that you might enjoy if you like this specific type of gameplay and the cyberpunk setting (which is fine btw, not every game has to be a masterpiece). Overall it's a solid 7.5/10 and I liked it more than some games that are 9/10 »

Anche la grafica è buona per l’hardware della console e rende bene nelle fasi d’azione. Il punto un po’ più debole è la storia, che mi ha temporaneamente fatto lasciare il gioco. « Astral Chain is an excellent game, better than the Bayonetta Series from the same studio. It is longer, deeper, has a whole range of actions: investigations, side quests, exploration (mini but quite pleasant in this world), action that is very original and technical with the legions. The artwork is excellent , the atmosphere, the story, the universe, are unique, well-done and the alternance between action and more relaxed phases is a success. Playing this game is a wonderful experience. Must-have in your Switch collection. »
