GAMINGbible 90/100

« While some of it feels a little dated and the side missions don’t diverge as much as they could, the overall package is a deeply engrossing fresh way to experience an old staple for any Dragon Ball Z fan. »

DarkStation 90/100

« Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was designed for a specific audience and likely will not draw people who aren’t already invested in the series. For everyone else, Bandai Namco has delivered a gift to Dragon Ball fans the world over, a loving tribute to Japan’s most popular and endearing addition to popular culture. »

IGN Japan 90/100

« Faithfully recreated cutscenes – featuring not just Goku but all your favorite Dragon Ball Z characters – manage to surpass the quality of the original anime series. With even nostalgic memories from before the Z saga included, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is best described as a huge treasure box of fan service. While the battle system could have been deeper, flashy special moves keep things from getting boring, and while most quests may feel uninspired, this is still the ultimate game for any Dragon Ball fan. »

PLAY! Zine 90/100

« A very few games can compare to Kakarot in terms of sheer love towards the original series and storytelling qualities. Not without its set of flaws that leave only regret not being even greater, Kakarot still manages to be a great game for fans. No, scratch that. It manages to be an amazing game! May they not stop here, and deliver more and more of love-letters like this. If it goes in the right direction, the next one could definitely be legendary. »

Areajugones 85/100

« Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot establishes itself as a must-buy for all Dragon Ball fans. Although it sometimes falls short of the mark while trying to portray each and every iconic moment in the series, it manages to offer the best representation of the anime in videogames. Also, the gameplay is frantic, fun and visually pleasant, and even though there is sometimes a lack of polish, it stands out as one of the best Dragon Ball Games ever made. »

Hobby Consolas 85/100

« A true gift to any Dragon Ball fan that works really well as an open world ARPG. It's not without flaws, but its length and dynamics are a safe bet. »

LaPS4 85/100

« Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a different experience that you won't find in any other Dragon Ball game. As for its proposal, is fun and complete, ideal for any lover of the popular anime of Akira Toriyama. Its well-achieved RPG component ensures that we spend hours and hours hooked on a title that doesn't have the best fighting system, but has a lot to offer. »

God is a Geek 85/100

« An essential single player Dragon Ball game for new fans and series veterans alike. Although it's a little slow paced and has some painful load times, no game has felt more "Dragon Ball" than Kakarot. Great combat, deep systems and a huge variety of content make this package a joy to sink your hours into. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

OptimisticAlex 9/10

« This game mixes the story of Dragon Ball and open-world adventure really well. I found the combat very fun. However, I can see how one could say that it's a bit boring, as it's really just the same thing over and over, just with slightly different enemies. What's really annoying is the amount of random enemies around the map that don't even pose a challenge, it just adds bore to your experience. If they improved the enemies, then the open world experience would be a lot better. I found the DLCs to be pretty decent and fun. Especially the ones with more story, like the Future Gohan/Trunks one, the Diama ones, the Bardock one and even the SSJ blue one. I found being able to play with Goku/Vegetas god forms was very fun, and it gave more feeling to this game as well. This game handled the peak moments of Dragon Ball very well, like when Goku first went super- saiyan, when Gohan went ssj 2 and the fight against kid Buu. Even in the DLC, where you fight gold Frieza, they handled the best moments of that very nicely as well. I also like how this game, in some of the cutscenes, it copys the original style that Dragon Ball had back then, it's a small detail but a nice one. My main critique for this game is that the sub storys/sub plots are boring as hell. Like when you have to do random things that don't really contribute any to the story, and they only introduce features of the game. And with the sub missions, while I know you don't really have to do them, I just found all of them low quality and boring. Trust me, when you play this game, do not play any of the sub-missions because it will ruin your experience. The only times you should do it is when you need a specific item or something. But even then, hunting for it yourself would be more fun than doing these stupid sub-missions. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot also adapts the world of Dbz itself very nicely. Like the dinosaurs, animals and creatures all capture that old style of Dragon Ball that you don't get in the more modern adaptions of Dragon Ball. After completing the story, there's many other things that you can do that doesn't include sub-missions that are quite fun. If you're going to buy DBZ Kakarot then also get as many DLCS with it as your budget can as the dlcs are worth it. So overall, you should get this game, it's quite fun, and especially if your a DBZ fan yourself. »

« É o jogo que melhor adapta a estória de dragon ball bom sistema de gameplay e um grande mundo aberto »

xManuu_04 10/10

« This is the perfect game for those who want to play a game that tells the story of Dragon Ball. There are of course other games that tell always the same story, but the way this game does is absolutely perfect. Surely one of the best Dragon Ball game. »

sae08902 10/10

« I really love this game, even if there is much filler. I Like The cutsceens in which The Story is telled. »

EldenTriforce 7/10

« Entertaining but its success is tied more to the nostalgia behind the series »

nicksobis 8/10

« As a 20+ years fan, this is everything i ever wanted with a DBZ game. Altought the side quests are mediocre at best, being able to explore the world and get along with legendary characters of the franchise is truly amazing. The work done on the cutscenes that perfectly recreat the anime moments is a thing that always mesmerize me. As I also apreciate the forum where you interact with the emblems of almost every character, trying to combine them to increasing atributes purpose. The combat for me is great as well, even when People say it is too simple in this game. The thing is, the anime and manga combat has simple combat too. It excells on the strategy of when to use full power, and when to hold down and drag the enemy tired. I just think the Boo saga is too rushed. And the Dragon Ball saga with child goku could truly use this games system to a ver fun title. »

Anime-ter 8/10

« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »

Bahlulu 10/10

« Jogaço incrível, um prato cheio pra quem é fã de Dragon Ball Z. A história simplesmente segue o anime e ainda amplia mais (com histórias secundárias). Certamente é o melhor modo história de DBZ (ficando a frente até de DBZBT2). Prós: História otima, trilha Sonora perfeita e gráficos maravilhosos. Contras: a gameplay não irá agradar a todos (apesar de ter me agradado), infelizmente só dá pra jogar com personagens específicos »
