Guardian 100/100

« Cadence of Hyrule is a potent combination of nostalgic looks, creative takes on emotionally charged Zelda music and unusual, rhythm-powered moment-to-moment play. Stylish and excellent fun, this tribute captures the excitement and sense of discovery that makes Zelda what it is: a real adventure. »

Destructoid 95/100

« It takes the best parts of Crypt of the NecroDancer and makes them more accessible, which really comes with the territory when you're paying homage to The Legend of Zelda. »

NintendoWorldReport 95/100

« Cadence of Hyrule successfully earns its place in the pantheon of Zelda adventures by carving a distinctive rhythmic path that brings new ideas to the series while also hitting the right nostalgic keys. »

God is a Geek 95/100

« A marriage made in heaven, Cadence of Hyrule is a toe-tapping, monster slaying groove-fest. »

COGconnected 91/100

« Cadence of Hyrule is the Legend of Zelda game I didn’t know I wanted, and now can’t live without. It’s perfect for both bus rides and extended eyebleed caliber play sessions has the raddest soundtrack of the year, and is randomly generated to ensure infinite replayability. It’ll be in my rotation for a good long while, and deserves a place on your Switch wishlist, Zelda fan or not. »

Nintendo Life 90/100

« Brace Yourself Games has crafted a unique Zelda game which fits in perfectly with the rest of the family. A transfusion from Crypt of the NecroDancer gives the old top-down template a fresh spin but it still manages to feel like Zelda. By allowing a talented indie developer to play in the universe, Nintendo has gained a fantastic entry in the franchise that feels like a celebration – specifically of its music, a part of the series destined to take a back seat as the majesty of Hyrule is increasingly conveyed through the scale of its world rather than melodies from the days when the 'kingdom' was really a walled garden. Cadence of Hyrule is not just a brilliant game, it's a brilliant Zelda game - one that you won't want to miss. »

Attack of the Fanboy 90/100

« Crypt of the Necrodancer seems like a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch. However, Cadence of Hyrule isn’t that. It feels more like a traditional 2D Zelda adventure than it does a roguelike and has a myriad of options to get the type of experience you want out of it. Cadence of Hyrule is a Zelda game that any fan of the franchise will appreciate. »

Nintenderos 90/100

« There could not be a better successor to Crypt of the NecroDancer. Cadence of Hyrule takes all the mechanics of gameplay from the prequel and perfects them to the point where you never get tired of playing. One of the best indie experiences of the market along with the most prestigious sagas from Nintendo. »

« This game does some wonderful things, has gorgeous music and the perfect run time. Just got a switch to play it and wasn't disappointed at all. »

rafaaguilera 9/10

« I had blast with Cadence of Hyrule. It's very close to a conventional 2D Zelda experience like A Link to the Past. Maybe not with the same complexity in puzzles and dungeons, but very addictive anyways. The main gameplay twist is the rhythmic combat, that at first I found it weird, but I got used to it very quickly. It works great and is very original. The only thing this game misses the mark a bit, is that some items are a bit underused or not very useful at all. Everything else, top notch! »

midna2003 4/10

« The music is nice, but I found the gameplay to be boring and uninteresting. »

enterfusion 8/10

« An Rythm game with the best franchise of all Time: The Legend of Zelda?!? With the Iconic Themes from Koji Kondo reinterprated?!? A master idea. This game is awesome. Shut up and take my rupees »

ELYS1UM 6/10

« Fun, yes, but not my cup of tea. It feels like a watered-down Zelda experience, and as someone who's never played crypt, I don't think I will. I don't dislike the game, but I would have rather put my money towards something else. »

otmiyo 8/10

« Fun gameplay, catchy music, attractive graphics and enjoyable story, totally recomendable »

martincito 10/10

Za_Uvek 7/10

« Pretty much Crypt of the Necrodancer with a Zelda skin. The graphics have been given a fresh coat of paint and the sound consists of Zelda track of course. The big change is the slight increase in difficulty due to most levels being a lot more puzzle based than it's predecessor. My biggest criticism is that the start of the game you are spammed mercilessly with tutorial prompts. If you love love love Necrodancer and are a Zelda fan, then this should be a no brainer. But if this is your first taste of Necrodancer, then maybe jump into the original first. »
