Burnout 2: Point of Impact
Burnout 2: Point of Impact

« There's no story line, but Burnout 2 is one of those games that's actually better for the lack of it. [28 July 2003, p.82] »
« The most pulsating, nut-chafing, wind-in-the-hair experiences that can be prised from a game console. [GamesMaster] »
« This is one of the fastest, most intense racing games we’ve played on any system and makes rival games look absolutely sedate by comparison. »
« If "Gran Turismo 3" is Dom Perignon, Burnout 2 is Jack Daniels. While Dom may be a great guy, personally I'd rather hang out with Jack. »
« A really, really solid, gorgeous, blisteringly fast racing game that just wants you to have fun. »
« No matter how you choose to play Burnout 2 – Championship, Chase, or Crash -- the ultra-responsive gameplay will shine through as the pinnacle of arcade-racing perfection. »
« The improved Burnout system really adds some much needed depth to the gameplay, whilst those graphics are going to astound you. »
« A sequel so polished and far-improved over the year-old Burnout that the former looks like a PSOne engine compared to the latter. The music is crap though. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Notes: I played it in PCSX2, and I had achievements turned on (I got them all). Big, big step up from the previous game. The controls feel tighter and more responsive; the music is better (I don't prefer the instrumental music), the crash physics are better, and they are not as annoying as in the first game, the rubber band is more forgiving and not very cruel, the nitro is improved; and the sense of speed is better. Some of the negatives that I found are:- The curves sometimes have hard edges, so you think it's a smooth curve, but you will crash. In one instance while playing pursuit mode, I was grinding my door into the smoothest curve, but I crashed.- I don't know if it's a glitch or something, but when I was second, I caught the first racer hitting the back of a bus and didn't crash, I even have it on video.- The pursuit mode is great, and I love it, but it needs more improvements. For me, I don't like the fact that it stops your nitro after hitting the racer, and if you somehow go in front of the racer, the game will glitch out and send you into the side of the road or you will crash. The amount of content is doubled, I spent 4 hours and 15 minutes in the first game to play and complete all the stuff, in the second, I spent exactly double, 8 hours and 30 minutes. Played from 15th June till 28h June 2026. 8.5 hours played. »
« The sense of speed is absolutely intoxicating. Weaving through oncoming traffic while your Boost meter fills up keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. But the absolute crown jewel of this sequel is the introduction of the Crash Mode. It turns car accidents into a puzzle-like high-score minigame, and it is endlessly addictive to find the perfect angle to cause the biggest pile-up possible. »
« The feeling of racing down the wrong lane trying to avoid getting pulverized by a truck is mad adrenaline. 9/10 »
« Thrilling road racer that was a game-changer for an entire genre and still looks good today. »
« The best thing about this game is the "CRASH" mode simply because when it ends it shows the replay in slow motion and consequently you see every piece of the car breaking up which makes the gameplay more immersive. Taking into account that it is a 2002 game, the deformation of the cars is simply sensational Dust and smoke particles are not left out either.. they are perfect. ... I give a score of 7 because the game is good when you play it for the first time but it has a very bad replay factor »
« Dodging the normal traffic while blasting full speed in a police cruiser is simply exhilarating! A fun, fast-paced arcade racer that could be a bit deeper. »
« Jesus, what a fun driving game, the controls were delicious, in my 0pinion it is a MUST PLAY for ps2 »
