Xbox Nation Magazine 100/100

« Hands down, the best arcade racer ever made. Ever. [Oct 2004, p.99] »

Gamestyle 100/100

« Racing games have now changed forever, and entirely for the better - for that there can be no higher recommendation. It's that good. »

games(TM) 100/100

« Burnout 3 is special. It's not just another racing game, and despite lacking certain features car enthusiasts hold dear (such as customisation and ultra realism) it's easily the most fun we've ever had with any racing game. [Oct 2004, p.96] »

RewiredMind 100/100

« Astonishingly good...This is pure, balls-out speed that will cause even the most hardcore of gamers to rock from left to right as they barely miss ramming a truck at two hundred plus miles an hour. »

AceGamez 100/100

« What with the totally aggressive but fun gameplay, the sheer madness of the speed at which you drive, the incredible quality of the foreground, background and moving visuals and the pumping soundtrack to run alongside it, you'd be a fool not to have Burnout 3: Takedown in your collection. »

The New York Times 100/100

« Takedown is nearly flawless, with crisp graphics, a rousing punk-rock soundtrack and smart level design that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is not just the best driving game I have ever played, but one of the best games of any genre this year. »

Operation Sports 100/100

« This is only marginally a racing game - it's a game of destruction and chaos that holds more in common with a first person shooter than with a true racer. »

GameSpy 100/100

« The new king of arcade racers. Think about everything that was brilliant about its predecessors -- the whimsical take on the laws of physics, the gorgeous graphics, and the completely insane emphasis on crashing -- and multiply it by ten thousand. »

Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)

« CPU racers very obviously rubberband in every single race, making it impossible for the player to open up any sort of lead against them even if he drives literally perfectly. Crash physics are comically inconsistent, you can smash into a wall going 100 MPH and nothing happens but if you so much as look at certain obstacles the wrong way then your car goes pinwheeling a mile into the air and your entire race is lost. It's unbelievably pathetic that the game was released in this state, where the only way the computer can beat you is if it literally cheats to do so. The developers should be ashamed of themselves. »

OpheliaMeow 10/10

« Arguably one of if not THE best arcade racing games ever made. The soundtrack is incredible, the moment to moment gameplay is intense and gripping and surprisingly tight for a PS2 racer. the "takedown" mechanics to this day have never been matched outside of the Burnout franchise. The only real negatives are that the rubber banding can be a little crazy at times and I would potentially like to see maybe one or two more unique locales on offer. I'd say no game is perfect but this is as close as we have ever gotten. »

« one of the best games ever made! 10 out of 10 I have played this game for so many hours , one of the best games of all time imo »

thebe_stone 10/10

« This game is the closest we've come to a perfect racing game. It's going to be a long time before someone tops it. »

Kani123456789 10/10

« Very good game very very good **** revenge is better and revenge is my childhood game »

Tatsuyas_milk 9/10

« Almost close to platinuming this game on retroachievements. Perfect gameplay and hands down the best licensed soundtrack on any PS2 game, and that's a hard competition right there »

Stuarts 10/10

pokemonfanatic 10/10

« This is my first 10/10 on Metacritic, and I reviewed Ocarina of Time. This game is literal perfection in arcade racer form. The soundtrack is perfect, the graphics are perfect, the events are perfect, the feeling of smashing an opponent into a semi truck at 160mph, oh you better believe that's perfect. This game is what all other arcade racers must measure up against. It is the gold standard of the genre. It doesn't matter if you get it on PS2 or XBOX, (or on something else if you catch my drift) just get this game. It's one of the only two games I have 100%'d. »
