Wreckfest
Wreckfest

« It is the anti-Forza. It luxuriates in the dents on a day-to-day sedan instead of the aerodynamic swoop of something Italian and impossibly expensive. It’s too serious for Electronic Arts, but too wild for Papyrus. It’s not interested in car culture or faux social media or sexy street racing. It hasn’t seen any of the Fast and Furious movies. It loves tough cars, not sleek cars. It knows dents add character. You don’t need to drive these beasts around in the desert to make them look like they’ve been scavenging the wasteland. They come that way. »
« There is so much fun in Wreckfest. A racing "deathmatch" which originated on the top demolition technology is full of crashes, tension, but also humor and DIY work. [Issue#287] »
« A deceptively realistic racing game that doesn't care if you want to ignore the details and just smash every car on the track. »
« Arcade racers are seeing a resurgence of late and Wreckfest fits nicely into that sub-genre, bringing banger racing into the limelight and turning it up to eleven. It may not be named Destruction Derby, but the spirit of the old Psygnosis classic is alive and well in Bugbear’s latest racer. »
« It's rare when a racing game manages to modernize and reinvigorate an old formula with spectacular confidence, but Wreckfest does just that. »
« Wreckfest maintains all its promises we expected in all these years of development: destruction, a very accurate physical model and a lot of fun. »
« Wreckfest is a great successor to the Destruction Derby legacy. A game with personality and fun, with the best recreation of damages and accidents, and with excellent physics. »
« In the end, Wreckfest is a game that you will tend to make your own fun in. The career mode can get a little old after a while, but the multiplayer makes it even more fun throwing other players into the already impressively crazy mix. Bugbear knows what their players want out of a game from them, and they offer it up in a really fun, chaotic package that any arcade racer can enjoy. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« It's a well-made, fun game with a lot of content, absolutely nothing to comment on, great in all aspects. »
« I wish I've meet this game five years ago. It's pretty damn hard sometimes. But it's incredible how funny it is. »
« I can play this game for hours. Probably my favorite crash physics in a car game other than **** drive. It's so worth the money »
« This is my favorite racing game so far! It is so perfect, my god! The destruction model is superior; you never get this level of destruction in any sim. The music deserves a dedicated award. The physics is on a decent level, but not overwhelmed with tons of tunings. The AI is a monstrous and maximally aggressive, you will find it challenging. If you an old fan of Flatout 1 (not 2, it's a trash :)) you definitely should try Wreckfest »
« Good racing game from the beginning. The AI may not be perfect but graphics, tracks, cars and the physics are very good. »
« Hella' fun whenever I turn bomb someone into oblivion, So much destruction it's addictive, even the AI goes hard! But for real, The damage model is great, loads of cars and customization options! Lots of tracks and workshop vehicles and tracks! Super Fun! »
« The only thing that distinguishes this game from the competition is points for hitting or disturbing opponents and a mode in which you fight with others in the arena. The spiritual successor of flatout is worse than the original in practically every respect. The only thing that can be praised is the car's destruction system. Easily configure certain aspects of your car before the race to suit the track. And good quality music, not counting the music on the menu. Unfortunately, the tracks you drive on are a joke, they are repetitive and, unlike flatout, boring. There's no sense of progress here at all. »
