The Witcher
The Witcher

« Take notes, Obsidian. This is how stuff should be done. »
« It’s a nice tall bottle of liquid awesome. So grab a glass from the bar and give it a shot. »
« As good as this game is, there is room for improvement in several areas. »
« The Witcher simply works -- its refreshing setting, engaging combat and potion system, and long, well-conceived campaign is a recipe for single-player greatness. It's the kind of game that actually makes you want to track down some of Sapkowski's stories to learn more about this refreshingly bleak world. »
« If you’re looking for a RPG that has most of the same components as other games but with a deep and intriguing storyline, then I would highly recommend this game to you. »
« Come for the role playing and story, but as soon as someone speaks, please turn down the volume to save your ears some distress. »
« I would love to see this title moved to a console, where the controls could be streamlined and hopefully the load times reduced. As it stands, The Witcher is an extremely fun game with the nasty habit of succumbing to narcolepsy at the most inappropriate moments. »
« The Witcher is a fantastic RPG, and an amazing achievement for first-time Polish developer CD Projekt. [Jan 2008, p.82] »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Story is really good but gamplayin some acts can be boring for example act 4. »
« Still great game, story is really good. Cant wait for the remake.Gameplay is a little bit boring but this game good asf »
« Still a great game. The combat takes some getting used to, but that is the only downside imho. »
« It's far from perfect but this is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I actually enjoyed the combat system more than Witcher 2, especially on Hard difficulty. The voice acting and story are mostly excellent. As with the entire series, you are forced to make some difficult choices that have real repercussions. Atmosphere is phenomenal. My main criticism isn't the combat, but the amount of backtracking. If you want to complete every quest, it's quite a lot of walking back and forth. Don't wait for the remake, at least not until we have a release window. This game is worth experiencing now. »
« Amazing story. Your choices matter and they are almost always not 100% good or bad, just trade offs. »
« this is a bad game, very buggy, poor gameplay, bad writing. but hey i had fun so whatever »
« This is the beginning of a legend. While many mechanics and the graphics were improved in the sequels, the story stays epic. Overall rating: 8.9. »
« One of the best RPGs of all time! I can't believe the many choices that completely alter the entire game! You have so much freedom and the game reacts to your difficult, grey choices. Almost no other game does what the Witcher does. It's soooo good! »
