The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, développé et publié par CD Projekt, est sorti le 19 mai 2015 en tant que suite de The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings et troisième volet de la série inspirée des romans fantastiques d'Andrzej Sapkowski. Ce jeu de rôle d'action se déroule dans un monde ouvert exploré à la troisième personne, où l'on incarne Geralt de Riv, un chasseur de monstres à la recherche de sa fille adoptive Ciri, tandis que l'armée surnaturelle de la Chasse Sauvage envahit les Royaumes du Nord. Le titre propose exploration, combat, progression de personnage et récits ramifiés selon les choix du joueur, et il est disponible sur PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 et Xbox Series X|S, avec un temps de parcours principal d'environ 51 heures et demi et près de 175 heures pour une approche complétionniste.
Le jeu a reçu un accueil critique très favorable, la presse saluant notamment GameSpot qui y voit l'un des meilleurs jeux de rôle jamais conçus et Impulsegamer qui loue des personnages attachants et une mécanique quasi irréprochable. Certains joueurs sur Metacritic expriment toutefois des réserves, évoquant une impression de quantité sur qualité ou la voix de Geralt comme gênante, tandis que d'autres sur Steam célèbrent une masterclass d'écriture et une narration toujours marquante onze ans plus tard. L'ensemble affiche un score Metacritic et OpenCritic de 93, pour une note agrégée de 92,94.

« Rundes Spiel mit vielen herausragenden Elementen, aber auch einigen Dingen, die vielfach nicht genug herausgestellt werden und verhindern, dass es ein perfektes Erlebnis ist. Das Gute zuerst: Story, Soundtrack und Grafik sind mega, die Atmosphäre dicht und die Spielwelt glaubwürdig und lädt zum Entdecken ein. Das Gameplay wurde auch im Vergleich zum zweiten Teil erweitert und erlaubt mehr Vielfältigkeit, auch wenn gewisse Wege (Bogen und Bomben) auf höheren Schwierigkeitsgraden kaum viabel sind. Wenn man jedoch mal abseits der Hautpquests guckt, leidet das Spiel unter den typischen Macken einer großen Open-World-Welt: Sich ständig wiederholende Missionstypen, repetitive Spielmechaniken (witcher sense), sinnlose Collectibles und einer schwammigen Steuerung (insbesondere auf dem Pferd). Dennoch eine Empfehlung! »
