Noisy Pixel 100/100

« The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a remarkable action-adventure RPG that blends heartfelt storytelling, rewarding time-travel mechanics, and engaging combat into an unforgettable journey. With a lovable cast, meaningful side content, and expertly crafted world design, it stands as one of Square Enix's strongest modern releases and a standout adventure for JRPG fans. »

PSX Brasil 90/100

« The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is an excellent action RPG that clearly demonstrates its influences, but uses them to deliver a unique game. It shines in its combat, exploration, and a good story that makes every hour worthwhile. »

« Every once in a while there’s a game where I put off completing my review because I'm busy trying to grab the Platinum trophy. The Adventures of Elliot is one of those games. I found entire evenings and weekends disappearing, and even when repetition threatened to set in, I found new ways to shake up the game. Look past the odd pacing foible and this is an excellent action adventure to sink into. »

Vice 90/100

« The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is one of Square Enix’s best original IPs in years. It’s a perfect blend of classic Zelda and Final Fantasy Adventure, mixed with a unique time-traveling mechanic. While the game initially starts out deceptively simple, it quickly turns into a mind-bending adventure story with complex mechanics and exploration. »

Voxel 90/100

« Featuring time travel, a narrative structure influenced by Mana, and the combat and exploration characteristic of Zelda, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales demonstrates that the HD-2D style still has a lot of life left in it, including in other genres, and that it has matured significantly in recent games. After years of refining the formula in smaller-scale games, Square Enix seems to have finally found a Zelda to call its own. »

« The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a treat for fans of action RPGs such as The Legend of Zelda and Alundra, with plenty of exploration to be done, dungeons to conquer, and weapons and spells to acquire. Some may find it a little simplistic in ways, but those who get engrossed in the adventure it provides will undoubtedly love it. »

Cultura Geek 90/100

« The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales demonstrates that the HD-2D style isn't confined to the traditional JRPG genre but can also successfully adapt to the adventure genre. This new IP can be summed up in one word: exploration. It features a single continent spanning four eras, an emotional narrative, and a progression system based on various weapons and gems that allow for skill development with significant room for growth. With its balanced difficulty and solid length, this title shines without needing hyper-realistic graphics. »

« Square Enix’s love letter to old-school adventure games is a genuine delight to play, especially for players with a soft spot for the older days of the Legend of Zelda franchise. There’s an impressive mix of natural worldbuilding, impressive art design, and tight gameplay that encourages exploration – both with actually checking out the overworld for secrets and playing with the wide array of weapons and magic made available to the player. While the story may not be as impressive as the rest of the product, Adventures of Elliot is a genuine accomplishment by Square Enix that makes for one of the year’s most enjoyable adventures yet. »

« what a great game, i think it may be my favorite game of the year right now, very close with resident evil, I have a few small gripes but overall i loved it, the ending came together in such a perfect way »

« The art style, music, and the final part of the story are great, but the game becomes extremely repetitive as you move through the same areas across different eras; you can tell it’s artificially padded. The final stretch to unlock the endings and the post-game content feels like a real drag, despite how good the story is. PS: It's a shame about the key-card format on Switch 2, because this game deserves to be played in handheld mode, and that's why I picked it up on PS5 to play with the Portal (while it's still possible). Because of this, it's a -0.5 on the final review score »

« Outstanding visual. One of the best HD-2D game in the market. One thing that I didn't like was story. It's too plain and too cliche...although there are more stories unlock at later part. Overall it's a good game, great visual, still enjoyable with some flaws. »

« È unngioco molto divertente, pieno di sorprese e di luoghi da scoprire. Alcune trame secondarie mi hanno commossa e l’end game è stato una vera sorpresa! Questo gioco mi ha divertito davvero tanto! »

« From the moment I started the game I can see just how great Square Enix is at this art style. Visuals look stunning and the soundtrack is perfect for an adventure like this. The music is honestly so good I've just had it running as I type this up which makes sense because its the same developers who made Dragon Quest HD-2D Remakes. It's really nice to have the main protagonist actually have a voice in this style of game and from what I've heard so far the voice cast does a great job. I'm mixed on Elliot as a character because he is really the perfect hero for a game like this. I like him a lot because it's how I want to play this game but at times it seems like he lacks character depth or room for growth. Movement feels decent but combat feels a bit stiff at times. I really like using the magicite system to upgrade the different weapons you can obtain. You can also use whatever weapon you want to progress through the game and get a good variety pretty early on. Although I loved the environments and enemies, my main drawback is from repetition in the places you explore. Overall this is another fantastic entry from Square Enix and I'm really hoping they continue making more games just like this one. »

« Una maravilla de juego, joya como pocas. Con una historia emocionante y un personaje principal increiblemente bien construido. »

« Incredible game with a good story and a fun leveling system. The secrets and upgrades are impactful, and the narrative is charming. The gameplay is very balanced, even on very hard mode, and it features a great superboss. »

« A Great Start, Asanos Elliot does well to bring the feeling of classic Zelda back, and when you get to the true ending it really soars in the finale. The music, HD-2D style, combat and more continue to shine. Weapons syetms and magicite plus Fae abilities really make the combat an great time with the options and variety. Story is realtively solid just a feel good time that really hits when you get everything together at the truth, with each age having solid characters. Elliot himself is a solid go good and the others offer their own great support and parts to the story. The flaws of this game come down to enemy variety and map repetition. You will fight the the same enemies over and over and the map is the same FOUR TIMES, and you have to rexplore it again and again. the routing and enemy drop system makes things feel off. Drop rate is good but much of the time you will just ignore enemies to just get map flled or progress. Puzzles and dungeons are lighter but at least nice (eat your heart out TOTK/ BOTW with poor dungeons). Aestetic and much of the core is good with room to work off off this idea. The developers did a great job for a first swing at an action like setup versus asanos turn based systems. I think it suits my tastes to be in parallel with octopath as a great series with sequel potential. Nothing crazy special but a great time and worth a look. »
