« If you’ve never played a Tenchu game before, this is definitely not the one to start with. »
« One thing that fans of the Tenchu series will enjoy is the enemies have increased AI. You can't just hide in a bunch of bushes and be "invisible" to enemies anymore. [JPN Import] »
« By far the most useful addition though is the ability to pick up bodies so you can hide them. It's a simple little skill that should have been available all along... and now it is. [March 2005, p.80] »
« All you really need to know is that Fatal Shadows is the best game in the series to date, and although there are a few considerable drawbacks, playing this game is a sneaky good time. »
« 9 / 7 / 8 / 7 - 31 silver [Vol 815; 30 July 2004] »
« She's a good old dog but hard pressed to learn new tricks. »
« I'm a little disappointed that Tenchu isn't pushing the genre forward like "Splinter Cell" and "Metal Gear Solid" have. [March 2005, p.132] »
« Not only fails to enhance the genre as a whole, but also fails to offer any serious improvements over its predecessor. »

« It's funny how main stream media give this game a mixed score but praise the hell out of WOH. Funny, enough, it seems that the User score is actually quite different and positive. So anyways, after rage quitting WOH because it's just **** and inconsistent, I decided to give Fatal Shadows a try, hoping the game at least gives me an option to pause the menu and reset mission if I lose my grand-master ranking. And lucky enough, it did XD. Another great point I have to mention is the consistency of the grappling hook. Unlike In Wrath of My Ass, Fatal Shadows actually has a working function grappling hook that 95% of the time will work. AND Another great point I have to give is with the stealth assassination indicator. In WOH, sometimes you might not get the assassination animation and get "notice" although you perfectly stealth killed the bastard. This was especially annoying because then you were in the state of "?!" which mean guards are on high alert. In Fatal Shadows, the happened way less more often and I was able to get smooth stealth kills. Now besides praising this game for being better that WOH, I do have to mention the problems that are still there: - The spider Ability is still useless - The "HAND CLAWS" item is pretty much like the useless spider a ability, only you're "climbing walls" - which is a lie, since you can only hold on to a wall... You still need to fight the camera if you're using the default control buttons map. But, with a little button map setup, and a Razor Wolverine Control, I was able to experience the game the best way possible. But if I would have to give this game it's true pros, it would be 2 the different playstyles between Ayame and Rin. While Ayame is fast and agile, Rin is slower but more technical. Rin's Abilities give the play a completely unique play style from Both Ayame and Rikimaru from WOH. The game also rewards players for completing the game in any difficulty, and has a tutorial missions for a player to learn just in case. I guess the only negative is story, since the VA is still poor compared to the Japanes VA. And it doesn't help that the game never saves the VA selected in the menu. Seriously, the game can save the outfit I select but help saved the select language? The ****? So..... ummm.. another plus would ****, Ayame actaully looks great in the game, compared to WOH. Overall, if the stupid "main stream" critics would give this game the stink, we would have gotten more Tenchu games for the **** well.... »
« I always liked Tenchu, and played all of them with my friends (that were way better than me at these kind of games). Good old times. »
« This is the very good sequel but past game’s main character Rikimaru not in that game and I think players are very sad because that detail but game is almost perfect and so much fun also story telling is good boss fights are very good please bring back the Tenchu series. :) »
« Zero rating for not owning RICKMARU as he is one of the best things about TENCHU »
« As a whole is a good game in the Tenchu franchise, but with the same problems as its predecessors, either with respect to the camera and the very stupid AI of the enemies in it; Other points against it is the lack of the character Rikimaru, and the fact that during the whole main game plot, of all the cool characters in this game, only Ayame and Rin are playable! »
« You don't need much change on a great formula i think.I really enjoyed this nice game, similarly as the other entries.A versatile game and looks great for it **** places are multifarious and the music as was always nice. »
« Horrifying game because of camera. Your view is very limited and would even struggle to look at the environment most of the time. This game contains no real camera lock option meaning you will look at useless background from time to time. The game does not allow you to change the bad inverted camera into the normal scheme, which is a disaster when you try to use item. There are a lot of stealth games with better camera in ps2, go play shinobido imashimi, metal gear:snake eater etc instead. »
« I would call it full version of Wrath of Heaven. It improved almost everything which was bad: controls, AI (which is really good this time), plot, characters, bosses etc. Also you can drag bodies and swim again. There are more cutscenes and there are just made better. Voices are also better but still they are not as good as tey should. There are still some combo attacks, but there are no ghosts and zombies. Rin is very interesting character. I didn't liked these cinematics between levels and that there is no multiplayer, but there are some extra modes + you can play every level with character you choose. It should have been available in previous games as well. »
