Souls Alive: Origins is a survival‑horror adventure defined by atmosphere. Realistic visuals, dramatic lighting and a layered soundscape pull you into every corridor. Narrative leads the way through fragmented logs, eerie transmissions and impossible relics, but staying to read them means surviving sudden, brutal combat where every shot counts.
A remote desert world where Oxite—the crystal that makes super‑luminal flight a reality—is torn from the dunes by an isolated mining colony. During deep‑core drilling the crew uncovered the ruins of a long‑dead civilization and, while probing its cyclopean vaults, awakened the Great Old One they once worshipped: Cthulhu. Now the entire settlement teeters on the brink of annihilation, and you—the last functional communications officer—must reach the orbital uplink and transmit a distress call before the nightmare consumes everyone.
In the waking world you creep through half‑powered corridors, scavenge tools and juggle a tight inventory to solve engineering conundrums while confronting a Cthulhu cult reborn through prophecy—one in which you are both witness and unwilling participant. Then the sand yawns and you are dragged into a labyrinthine dreamscape where the Old One’s presence is constant, physics unravels, and space loops back on itself. Here, non‑Euclidean puzzles twist stairways into Möbius knots and reveal chambers that cannot share the same volume, challenging memory as much as courage.

Dev Update: Progress, Release Date and Roadmap
Development of Souls Alive: Origins is moving along steadily. The tutorial area is now almost complete, and by the end of this week it will be in the hands of our first round of beta testers. A major focus has been on performance: the game runs smoothly on modest hardware, without compromising the visual atmosphere or overall quality. Striking the right balance between immersion and accessibility has been a core goal since day one. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45617923/6a61a3229b91af237222cc3581ada91b15c1bb86.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45617923/f45dc9dde18efa599592315e3ccbf06f19fd2bb3.png Looking ahead, we're excited to announce that a public demo will launch this October as part of the Steam Next Fest. It will feature the entire first chapter of the game. Depending on how the demo is received, we also have plans for a fully standalone and free prologue that will serve as a narrative prelude to the main story. Souls Alive: Origins is a reimagining of how Cthulhu arrived on Earth and how the Necronomicon came to be. It’s set in the future, but it remains deeply respectful of Lovecraft’s original canon. As a long-time admirer of the Mythos, I’ve taken great care to ensure that this is not a contradiction of the source material, but rather a story of temporal paradoxes that fits, however disturbingly, within the established universe. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45617923/21fb3d4085bb370263a6c41218707e95c6d3c8f7.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45617923/2ff1757f194ee89cad23673a9063cf61676e249e.png The full game is scheduled for release in September 2026.
