THQ Nordic acquires... Gothic creator Piranha Bytes
THQ Nordic has acquired Gothic creator Piranha Bytes, and with it the IP rights to Gothic, Risen and Elex. The two companies have worked together before - THQ Nordic having been the publisher of Elex (2017), which was a bit ropey but charming nonetheless (a little like Piranha Bytes' other games). On the prospect of Elex 2, the acquisition press release said: "Semi-official comment: Have a guess."As for a new Gothic - presumably Gothic 5? "Nothing to say at this stage."Read more

Humble Daily Bundles give you 14 days of deals
Uh oh. Humble Bundle is already in the midst of a tempting Spring Sale (Saint Row IV is currently $10!) at the same time as GOG s Spring Insomnia Sale, and your wallet cowers in fear of Steam s next seasonal sale. The last thing it needs is another opportunity for amazing savings, but that s just what Humble Bundle announced with its new Humble Daily Bundle. For the next two weeks, Humble Bundle will put up a new bundle every day. For the next 24 hours it s offering the Humble Deep Silver Re-Bundle, which includes Saints Row: The Third, Risen 2, Metro 2033, Dead Island, and others. You can get all the games including their soundtracks if you pay $9 or more. As usual, a designated portion of your purchase will go toward the Electronic Frontier Foundation or Child s Play. This first daily sale looks just as good as Humble Bundle s usual offerings, so it s definitely worth checking in regularly over the next two weeks to see what games pop up there. It s okay. You weren't using that money anyway.
Avis des critiques et joueurs
Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« Risen 2 transcends its shortcomings by boasting a wonderful living and breathing world and a refreshing new setting, masterfully crafted and executed. Although the combat is way too easy and the ending comes much too suddenly, Risen 2 is a great role-playing experience for any fan of open world games. »
« Risen 2 is simply an another good game from Piranha Bytes. The developers prove that parting ways with their former partner - JoWooD Entertainment - has been a great decision. Risen 2 probably won't get any "RPG of the year" awards, but Gothic enthusiasts shouldn't care - Dark Waters will satisfy them fully, I'm sure. »
« Quotation forthcoming. »
« If you can look past some of the more useless skills and sluggish combat, you'll still have a great time while playing Risen 2. »
« The game is a wonderful pirate experience with good graphics but with some limitations in the roleplaying aspects of the gameplay in comparison to the first Risen. »
« Fixes some of the first Risen game's issues, the graphics look great and the pirate theme is refreshing, but combat is still pretty awkward and the quests include a lot of running back and forth. Still, it's not a bad game by any measure and for fans of Gothic and Risen it's a treat. [May 2012] »
« This second chapter of the Risen brand is an imperfect but charming RPG, with stunning environments and an engrossing story. An epic sea adventure we haven't seen in years! »
« Risen 2 offers all those features that have become synonymous with Piranha Bytes throughout the years: a wonderful setting, interesting quests, a robust battle system, variety and replayability. But along with those, Risen 2 drags with it some known issues, which have always been around with Gothic and Risen. [May 2012] »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« Çıktığı yılda bile oynanış kötü. Vakit kaybı bir yapımdı benim için. Hiç oynamamışlar bulaşmasın. »
« It's a fun game to play, but in my opinion they strayed a bit too far from the first game in the series. A completely different approach to gaining experience, the main story and the main character. However this novelty gives the series freshness and makes you want to play it. 8/10 »
« Не самый удачный эксперимент пираний, но были удачные нововедения. »
« It doesn't feel like the second game in a series. It feels like a downgrade in every way compared to the first game. If you liked the first game a lot, you can play this one with lowered expectations, but frankly, this pirate concept didn't interest me at all. It makes more sense to replay the first game instead of playing this one. »
« Pretty nice continuation of the first game. It had a more pirate climate. I liked more risen 1 climate »
« As a huge fan of the GOTHIC series, I was very excited for RISEN 2: DARK WATERS and I was not disappointed, The game has many positive aspects that make it a fun and rewarding experience - 7/10 »
« Существуют просто Зло и Большое Зло, а за ними обоими в тени прячется Очень Большое Зло. Очень Большое Зло, Геральт, это такое, которого ты и представить себе не можешь, даже если думаешь, будто уже ничто не в состоянии тебя удивить. И знаешь, Геральт, порой бывает так, что Очень Большое Зло схватит тебя за горло и скажет: «Выбирай, братец, либо я, либо то, которое чуточку поменьше» »
« Childhood game. But, unfortunately, the game was completed quite recently. Of course, by modern standards, the game is rather weak (weak game design due to constant saves, rather weak dialogue animation), but there are moments that will please RPG fans even in 2022 (for example, a well-thought-out plot and a well-built economy). In general, a good alternative to the old, long-favorite gothic, only on the theme of pirates, this series is exclusively for fans of this series. My rating is 5/10 if you do not look at the game through the prism of time. »
