Biomutant
Biomutant

« Considering Biomutant’s delayed and seemingly troubled road to release, I’m blindsided by just how good it is. Experiment 101 has clearly been afforded the time to see its vision through, something which is unfortunately far too rare in the cutthroat gaming industry. I did not expect this to be one of my favorites of the year so far, let alone one of the most enjoyable open-world games I’ve ever played. A true modern gaming miracle. »
« For the first time in a long time, a game has lived up (and in my opinion surpassed) the hyped that’s been created around it. Frankly, I’ll be surprised if BIOMUTANT is not game of the year. »
« While it may have a few flaws, Biomutant is a great game that reminds of a simpler time for video games. »
« Biomutant comes out the gate incredibly strong with high customization and a stunning world to explore. Players have agency over the adventure through interactions providing an immersive experience unique to them, making it a must-play for any action-adventure fan. However, the more time you spend in this world, the more you notice where it could be improved. As some missions become less fun with no help from the low difficulty, you'll likely want to speed past these portions. Still, that's one small issue to an otherwise grand adventure full of wonderful features, gameplay, and beauty that can't be overlooked. »
« Biomutant could be the sleeper hit of 2021. Not only is it downright adorable, but it's also an absolute blast to play. Developer Experiment 101 has created a world that you want to explore, and it frequently rewards you for slowing down and taking it all in. Throw in some great combat, robust character creation, and a wonderful crafting system and you've got a game that should please even the most jaded of open-world enthusiasts. »
« Biomutant is a superb open-world, action-focused RPG. You can fight to your heart's content, meander through gorgeous and bleak environments, and enjoy a story that takes you to far corners of a wonderful in-game map. It's not always easy on the eye, but look a little deeper and you'll see it's brimming with beauty. »
« I enjoyed my time with BIOMUTANT and I can’t wait to replay the game and see how it will play out if I make just a few minor changes to some of the decisions I made throughout the game. »
« If you can live with the crashes or if the developers have patched it by the time you read this, then Biomutant is a rather excellent title. The open-world setting feels unique amongst other postapocalyptic titles, especially with humans being replaced by cute yet realistic-looking fuzzy animals. The world looks gorgeous but offers a ton of stuff to do with a wide variety to boot. The fighting is fluid and excellent, no matter if you're using special powers or normal weapons, and the flexibility of many of the game's elements gives it a ton of freedom compared to its contemporaries. Even in a month crowded with some legitimate heavy hitters, Biomutant is well worth playing for those looking for a good RPG. »

« A fun action RPG soulslike where you can pick gun classes and customize your mutant. However, I got annoyed by the amount of cutscenes and text in the game while I wanted to skip and figure out stuff. »
« Ce jeu avait du potentiel, mais il est gâché par la répétitivité de son gameplay. Nos choix ont effectivement un impact, mais il vous est facile de changer de camp à tout moment du jeu, sans que cela ne pose souci. Le craft des armes et des armures est intéressant, mais pas assez aboutit. »
« A fun little game. It's not a game that will give you an amazing experience that will make you shout "Absolute cinema!", but it's fun and worth playing to pass the time. Rating 8/10 »
« Biomutant is a peculiar game. It’s clear that the developers poured their hearts into this title, but it’s also hard not to notice that the game feels somewhat undercooked. At first, the exploration really drew me in. I couldn’t stop myself from venturing further and further into this incredibly colorful and diverse world. Unfortunately, the deeper you go, the worse it gets. After a while, exploration becomes painfully repetitive, with tons of mostly useless junk scattered everywhere. All the puzzles in the game, if you can even call them that, are extremely simplistic and all revolve around the exact same mechanic. Combat is genuinely enjoyable, but only if you decide to spice things up yourself, because in reality, you don’t need to use any of the special abilities the game offers. You can just circle around an enemy long enough while shooting at it with a pistol.Speaking of combat, it’s worth mentioning that the game features a very well-designed weapon crafting system. Using the parts you find, you can modify your current weapons or create entirely new gear from scratch. The main storyline is weak, and your choices boil down to a black-and-white decision between being good or evil. Sample choices include KILL THE CUTE SQUIRREL or PET THE SQUIRREL. Seriously. What I did enjoy were the side quests from secondary characters. Those were often genuinely pleasant. I’d also like to praise the excellently executed Polish localization. It’s clear the translator put in real effort, and the item and location names they came up with are truly great. Unfortunately, there’s a small issue with voice implementation. Sometimes the narrator reads dialogue too slowly, and it gets cut off halfway through.Despite everything, I still think the game is worth giving a shot, especially if you manage to grab it on sale. »
« I don't know, I liked it, it's fun and quite original, it's not boring, the plot is ok, everything works, I recommend it even if it's perhaps not a masterpiece for many, but it's fun and it makes the time pass, the settings aren't bad, the characters are nice, exploring is interesting, it works, and it has those extra things that motivate you to play it. »
« The world is creative and colorful — I just wish it all felt a bit tighter. It tries a lot of cool ideas, but not all of them land. Still, I respect the ambition. »
« i want to like this game more, the combat is very fun and the graphics and music are great, but man this games flow is bad, the dialogues are not fun to sit trough, and the open world while visually pleasing, leaves a lot to be desired, i liked my time a with it but the glaring problems made it sometimes be less than enjoyable »
« Dang, I wanted to like Biomutant way more than I ended up. I love a good post-apocalyptic tale featuring furry little creatures running amok, causing chaos in tribal warfare, and just being nefarious in general. Sadly, Biomutant gets in its own way more often than two head chefs in one kitchen. From the long-winded dialogue about nothing (all excellently voice acted by one person), to the quickly one-note combat with thick, tanky health pools toward the end, to an interesting loot and crafting system that gets bogged down by a lack of truly unique **** in all, it’s nowhere near a horrible time — there are fun moments to be found and certainly some pretty sights. Even for UE4, it’s a good-looking game at times. Seeing the sunrise over a vibrant, verdant cliffside, with color schemes reminiscent of Far Cry New Dawn (those overblown, bright hues might be one of my favorite visual tones in all of gaming) is always enjoyable to me. It’s easy to get lost in, to just enjoy the ride.Ultimately, I think that’s what Biomutant offers. If you love checklists, if you love second-screen gaming (hello Steam Deck and baseball playoffs!), this might be a game for you. Just heavily temper your expectations — there’s still fun to be found in a 6 out of 10 game, in my opinion. »
