« This new Black & White pair of Pokémon games take the necessary and welcome step further in evolving the series. The gameplay's more dynamic thanks to the combat in threes, 3D integration is perfect, new animations for the little animals are welcomed. Communications and trading are easier than ever thanks to new online features. And since the dialogs are better written, and often funny... No doubt remains, Black & White are able to paint new, revived colors on the famous licence! »

The Escapist 100/100

« With slick and fast-paced battles, a more adult take on the traditional Pokémon concepts and an entirely new roster of characters, Pokémon Black & White is as close to a "reboot" as the franchise has ever seen, but it doesn't reinvent what doesn't need reinventing. »

Eurogamer Sweden 100/100

« The fact that Game Freak dared to remove all the old pokémons from the main story line and replace them with 156 new ones is only one of the reasons for the series feeling fresher than ever. Pokémon Black and White is the most entertaining game yet, and is a must-buy for all Nintendo DS owners. »

Gamers' Temple 97/100

« Not much else can be said about Black and White that is any different from what I made clear in the first paragraph; these are the two best Pokemon games yet, and by extension, two of the very best Nintendo DS games ever released. »

Official Nintendo Magazine UK 95/100

« A beautiful refinement of a great series. Game Freak has surpassed itself - the best Pokemon ever. [Mar 2011, p.87] »

Destructoid 95/100

« Pokémon Black/White is my favorite Pokémon game. That's my opinion. It's also the most robust, fully featured, polished Pokémon game on a technical level. That's an objective fact. Put those opinons and facts together, and you can only come up with one conclusion -- if you like Pokémon, you should go buy Pokémon Black/White. Like, right now. »

Da Gameboyz 95/100

« Fifteen years has gone by and Pokemon has evolved much like many of its Pokemon counterparts, into the best Pokemon version to date. With a whole new region to explore and 150 new Pokemon to discover between the two versions and the ability to play with any other trainer in the whole world, this will be hard to beat in the future. This is by far the best Pokemon ever released. »

Videogameszone.de 93/100

« The new battle system and the big new Poké-world feel great. There are a lot of new Pokémon to collect and train. You've got to get used to some of them. Poké-Fans shouldn't miss the new Black and White editions. »

« Pokemon Black & White is where the series feels like it actually tried to grow up a bit. Unova stands out immediately with its completely new roster, and it gives the game a fresh identity that later entries didn’t really replicate. For the first time in a while, it felt like I couldn’t rely on the same familiar Pokemon from past regions. The story is also one of the strongest in the series. Team Plasma actually has a clear ideology, and the game spends more time building up its themes instead of just throwing you from badge to badge. It’s not perfect storytelling, but it’s easily the most ambitious the main series has ever been. The difficulty is another highlight. Compared to newer games, Black & White actually makes you think a bit in battles, and Gym Leaders feel like real obstacles instead of speed bumps. The pacing is tight, and the overall structure feels well-balanced.Even the atmosphere hits differently. The music, cities, and general tone of Unova feel more mature and intentional than most other Pokemon regions. »

« For many people, Pokemon is more than a game. It is more than anime, cards, or battles on a screen. For many of us, Pokémon is childhood itself, a collection of moments frozen in time.People often argue about which Pokemon game is the best. They compare generations, graphics, and regions. But the truth is simple: the best Pokémon game is the one you personally **** me, that game was Pokemon Black and White.I did not buy it new. I found it at a yard sale, forgotten inside a box full of junk. No manual, no perfect condition, just the case and the cartridge. I brought it home, cleaned it carefully, turned on my console, and pressed **** something **** four months, that game became part of my life. I carried it everywhere, on the train and to work. I played at night before sleep and in the morning with my first coffee. Unova did not feel like a map. It felt like a place where time slowed down.Every battle felt personal. Every victory felt earned. Emboar was always there, through difficult fights and moments when giving up felt easier. We struggled together and kept moving forward.Pokémon Black and White became the most played game on my 3DS.When I defeated the Pokemon League for the second time and title screen appeared again, I felt something deeper than victory. That screen did not just end a game. It closed a chapter of my life.I do not claim this is the best Pokemon game ever made. I never will. That choice belongs to **** most valuable games are the ones that stay with you after the screen goes **** day, you will see that title screen again. And you will remember yourself. »
