Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, édité par Buena Vista Games et développé par Griptonite Games et Amaze Entertainment, a été publié le 27 juin 2006. Classé parmi les genres aventure, jeu de rôle et combat, le titre est disponible sur Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable et Nintendo 3DS. Il place le joueur dans la peau du pirate Jack Sparrow pour un récit d'action-aventure en 3D non linéaire et trépidant, où l'on croise le fer avec des morts-vivants, on se balance dans les gréements, on fuit des cannibales et on libère des trésors piégés, le tout pensé pour des sessions de jeu courtes et facilement interrompues.
L'accueil critique apparaît contrasté au regard de la note agrégée de 43,78. La presse a toutefois salué certains aspects du jeu, comme l'a fait Play.tm en écrivant : « One of the few film-based games I have not been able to put down. A love for the films aside, this game is excellent and despite its one or two faults (basic e… ». À l'inverse, le Detroit Free Press a qualifié l'expérience de « A straightforward hack-and-slash adventure, and not a very clever one at that. ». De son côté, un joueur sur Metacritic a partagé un avis nuancé en déclarant : « Sinceramente pienso que este juego seria lo que vulgarmente sele conoce como basura, pero no lo es el juego es entretenido el sistema de combate no es algo ort… ».
