Inuyasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask is based on an anime series of the same name. You can play either as a teenager boy or a teenager girl, named by the player. The two scenarios are very similar and basically follow the same story: you live in modern-day Tokyo and one day discover a strange symbol in an old storehouse. As a result, you are transported to medieval Japan. You encounter the half-demon Inuyasha, who introduces you to Kagome Higurashi, the heroine of the anime series. Together you embark on a journey to retrieve scattered pieces of the Sacred Jewel and to find a way to get back home. This is a fairly traditional Japanese-style RPG with random encounters and turn-based combat viewed from over-the-shoulder perspective. You can attack physically, use special techniques, and power up to combo attacks with multiple characters.

« If you're looking for the hottest new RPG with the flashiest graphics and some newfangled game mechanics, you'll probably be a bit disappointed. But if you're into the anime and want something that's guaranteed to have you playing well into the wee hours, this game is going to be smiling and waving at you the next time you're at your favorite game shop. »
« The trouble is doing any sort of action requires using 3 or 4 menus, which is okay in itself, but in InuYasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask, each menu takes twice as long as it needs to, dragging the battles horridly. Combined with a fairly high encounter rate, it seems to take forever to accomplish anything. »

« If you are a fun of the anime and of old school turn base RPGs this is a must play for you. Anime accurate, great voice acting and an incredible story with multiple endings. A 10/10 game! »
« 7/10 mostly because of alot of things I've noticed in the game that affected my ability to enjoy it. First off, the voice acting is so sub-par, the male lead of the game has terrible voice acting in regular conversations but sounded good in battles, as for the female lead voices in conversations sounded better but in battle, it sounds tooo wimpy. Secondly, the gameplay is way to slow, the battles are slow as hell, by the time I get in to a battle, its already been 10 mins. But enough with way it was wrong, now on to way it was good enough to be a 7. The story was interesting, despite battles being slow it was fun, the friendship/relationship events that happen are always a joy:), I enjoyed the high replay value as the number of different events happen to the lead. Overall I liked it and it would be a great collection to your PS2. »
