Grim Dawn: Forgotten Gods
Grim Dawn: Forgotten Gods

« Forgotten Gods is a very good addon to an equally good Hack & Slay with that certain something, but nothing more. After all, who - like me - only wants to play through once, comes here still at his expense. »

« Good DLC with a lot of content. Grim Dawn is a great game and a satisfying RPG that plays very straightforward and easy. Like other RPG's, you control a character, defeat monsters and bosses, level up, spend skill points and complete quests. It is as classic as it will ever be. Grim Dawn has some unique features, however. In Grim Dawn, you play as a character that has been possessed by the Aetherials and cured by the survivors of Devils Crossing. You start your adventure and fight against the forces of the dead, demons and other vile beasts. Like any classic RPG, your goal is to save the world and be the ultimate hero of the realms. At any time, you can access the DLC's, including this one, Grim Dawn: Forgotten Gods. It also blends in unique elements to the base game like different totems and items. In Grim Dawn: Forgotten Gods, you travel through the deserts of the Erulan Empire in search for the Forgotten Gods, which better be left undisturbed. However, evil never rests and you are tasked with defeating each and every one of them, earning newly introduced Mobility Powers. The graphics are nice, grim and dark, just the way it should be. The animations and ragdoll are great and shooting or hitting an enemy with a club looks satisfying. The new desert environments have a unique charm and work very relaxing. The sound is also great. The effects of weapons and enemies sound solid and the background music is atmospheric and relaxing. The new soundtracks with the desert theme sound great. This DLC adds some new features like an expanded stash, new items, new monster totems, four new factions and a lot more. The interface and controls are the same as games like Diablo and Sacred and easy to understand. The inventory management is also self-explanatory. This is one of those games that you need to keep playing for years and years to fully complete. Not necessarily because of the endless content, but rather because of the inhumane grind for levels, renown status and special items with low drop rates. I have to say that the price for this DLC is a little on the high end here, but for a game like Grim Dawn, I would buy it anytime. In the end, I would surely recommend this DLC to complete your experience with Grim Dawn. »
« I have a review for the base game and Ashes of Malmouth almost all points are still valid for this expansion. Nothing has improved from artistic and technical point of view. Somehow the story has gotten even worse and so out of place, disconnected from the rest of the series. It seems like they just wanted to ship an expansion as fast as possible and make a quick buck. New classes and designs are just ones that other diablo clones have ,and they have been brought here with subpar visual and sound quality. Like the spinning Barbarian from Diablo. Somehow the Diablo 2 version looks and sounds better. The visuals and performance have gotten worse since AOM, as if it was not bad already, and multiplayer is still unplayable and full of bugs and performance woes. All in all a disappointing addition, the game is still full of different builds. So, it is worth playing. But it becomes difficult to give the Crate entertainment leeway when they do not make any improvement, specially in areas that need it the most. »

« Forgotten Gods closes the extensions with a bang. The new setting is well designed and even though the story is / feels a bit shorter, it is as good as the rest of the game. »
« As someone who loves desert settings in RPGS, I liked this as much as the original game and better than Ashes of Malmouth. Shorter, but more enjoyable. 8.5/10 »
« I re-spec my LVL 50 character and lose ALL MY ATTRIBUTES Respec options just deleted my attribute points from the character !!!! MY RARE and LEGENDARY Armor and WEAPONS are fcking un-usable I have spent countless hours on my character and now I need to start over. Fck this Broken game. »
« For the most part I've been completely unimpressed with GD. For the creators of TQ I was expecting so much more and GD was a bland game in preview and mostly still is. It is just standard ARPG fair. In a nod to Path of Exiles the skill/devotion stuff is just ridiculously complex and the crafting is just out of control. Having 50+ different crafting components is just a disorganized mess. I played Forgotten Gods just to finish up the DLCs and I have to admit this was the best of the bunch. The story is standard fair but it is an entirely new area and it just feels more fun. Overall I think it is worth the price. Nothing particularly new here but it just seemed better organized and tight. »
