Été v.1.1.1 - Security Patch, and Performance Patch out of beta
Security Patch Été v.1.1.1 immediately brings a security patch following a vulnerability found in the Unity engine this week that affects all Unity games. It is highly recommend to update as soon as possible. Été v.1.1.0 Beta: Performance patch
Hi painters! I've been hard at work on a performance patch since release. The goals are to give more graphical options, improve framerate, reduce loading times, reduce memory usage, and fix memory leaks (which might be the cause of crashes on Steam Deck). This patch is now available on the Beta branch of Été. The full instructions to download it and the full changelog can be found on this Steam Discussions post. While this patch is a large step in the right direction, there is more that could be done. However, further optimizations will take significant time to implement and I wanted to make sure the community had access to at least a functional beta before the Holidays. Été v.1.0.2 is a minor patch consisting mostly of bugfixes. However, one often request quality of life change made it in: while at the easel (painting on canvas), time will pause at dusk, meaning you will no longer get kicked out of painting to sleep! You can spend as much uninterrupted time as you want painting an artwork. Do note however that earlier in the day, time will progress normally, all the way to the end (dusk). I also liked playing with the paintings, both in making original creations to sell and in interpreting the requests of clients. However, if there’s even a little bit of an artist within you, even if the talent isn’t necessarily there, you will probably find Été to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. »

Its concept, which involves bringing colors to the world you explore to define it, similar to Chicory, gradually reveals new adventures and allows you to create your home with satisfaction. This idea works quite well and gets you into the loop of “I’ll do one more thing and then stop for today,” but you end up never stopping. While it’s true that some missions can be a bit confusing and the dialogues sometimes feel out of place with the game’s atmosphere, Été still manages to leverage interaction to offer a captivating mix of pure fun and virtual drawing. It stands out as one of the ideal games to unwind with during the summer, aptly reflecting the season it’s named after. »
