Eastshade
Eastshade

« A polished, immersive trek through a world so alluring it’s a shame it doesn’t actually exist, Eastshade is a must-play for anyone with the heart and mind to devote to this art- and craft-themed adventure. »
« Eastshade is an original masterpiece that needs to be experienced by everyone at least once in their lifetime. »
« Entrancing, magical, and beautiful, Eastshade is much more than a pretty picture. »
« I am so excited by Eastshade. It was almost a privilege to play it. The whole experience is enriching in a way that too many games overlook, it is subtle and witty, and rewards intelligent choices and genuine immersion. Its design is incredible, both in physical terms and in terms of narrative and music. It is a secret space for the calm and quiet in us to reign supreme, and I am thrilled by the prospect of the games in years to come that will no doubt pay tribute to Eastshade. »
« By giving you a paintbrush (and a kettle) instead of a sword, Eastshade is a rare first-person open world game that's not about killing but rather about doing good deeds, helping people see the error of their ways, and bringing communities together all through the power of art. It's a breath of fresh Eastshadian air and a genuine, unironic feel-good game. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to put the kettle on. »
« I love Eastshade. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. The world was beautiful and expansive, the storytelling was not only strong but often masterful, and the whole package left me with that post-game hangover that has you putting down every game after it. It’s still early 2019, but I have no doubt that Eastshade will remain one of my favorite games of the year and one of my very favorite exploration games of all time. If it were up to me, I’d never take that final ship back out of Lyndow. »
« Eastshade is a wonderful surprise. A videogame in which violence is not contemplated and which gives free rein to the exploration of the world, as well as the discovery of the characters that populate it. The artistic direction is also fantastic, lending itself perfectly to the protagonist's brushes. Despite some small technical issues, Eastshade is an incredibly deep and relaxing experience. »
« Eastshade Studio's latest release is a great, relaxing experience overall, although some under-developed features and a few dated gameplay mechanics prevent the game from reaching its full potential. »

« I love the game so much but the game have too many bugs but I rly like the vibe of the game »
« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »
« This was hugely successful for an indie game and I sadly didn't vibe with it at all, abandoned it after the first settlement. »
« I really wanted to like this game, but it was a buggy mess for me. Something broke every 15 minutes, forcing me to restart the game over and over. For example, fast travel would hardlock the game, so I was just unable to use a very fundamental feature. It's unfortunate because the game has so much potential. If the bugs were fixed, I'd add 3 points to the score. »
« One of the best video games of all time - Beautiful, mystical, human, fantastical, imaginative, aesthetically charming, subtle, layered themes, sensuous, psychedelic, You will not understand until you have spent time in this exceptional place. »
« Eastshade features a world that is vast, serene, and filled with lush foliage and stunning architecture. The game is designed for you to explore it at your own pace, and there is no pressure for how you choose to progress through the game. There are no enemies in the game, and there are plenty of people to talk to and do errands for. It is easy to pour time into roaming around and taking in the sights. It's like taking a walk in the park, except that the park is more like an exotic island. The visuals are better than most AAA games to date, and the performance is great as well. Overall, an experience that is much more enjoyable than you would expect. On the other hand, it can get a little boring after a while once you realize that there isn't much depth to the game. There are a few significant bugs that you have to contend with, and the "nighttime freeze" factor and the lack of fast travel in the beginning weighs on the gameplay a bit. »
« Not for me. Played 30min and just couldn't get into it. It felt cheap and boring. The characters are pretty bland and nothing really caught my interest and made me want to continue playing this game. »
« If the way you play Skyrim is wandering the countryside, doing various small tasks, hunting, camping, taking screenshots etc then Eastshade is more or less tailor-made for you. It's essentially a mini-version of Skyrim with a few small cities, beautiful vistas, interesting NPCs, quests, some mystery and exploration etc but no fighting. Instead you're a painter out to commemorate your mother's memory by painting her favorite spots around Eastshade, and along the way you'll meet and help the local people as well. Sounds boring? Well, it's not. At least not if you're of a slightly more mature disposition, rather it's a wonderful and relaxing game which proves that you can make a great open-world RPG which isn't combat oriented. I highly recommend Eastshade for people who like games along the lines of Skyrim, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Journey, ABZU etc. Adventure game lovers, and anyone who enjoys an interesting setting and story, should feel right at home. A very memorable and unique experience overall. »
