Disney Speedstorm
Disney Speedstorm

« Disney Speedstorm establishes a very interesting, fun and promising structural base. If it is not a revolution in the genre, it knows how to rely on the rich universe of Mickey's house IPs and does so in a pleasant, immersive and seductive way, leaving to be seen whether, in the near future, the business model adopted here will be adequate (or not) for the platform and audience to which it is dedicated. »
« Disney Speedstorm, even in its early access form, is shaping up to be a great kart racer that can shape up to other top-tier titles within the genre. With plenty of challenges, racers, and modes to try out and unlock, completionists out there have a multitude of reasons to hop into the game again and again while burning rubber as your favourite Disney or Pixar character. While the sheer amount of quests and challenges to complete can get overwhelming at times, personally, I can't wait to see what Disney Speedstorm has in store for us - and I'll be right there at the finish line cheering them on. »
« With a potentially boundless universe of characters, worlds and more to tap into, Disney Speedstorm could conceivably provide fans of the House of Mouse with a steady diet of endless Disney themed content to get stuck into. Gorgeous to look at super satisfying to play, Disney Speedstorm's pay to win mechanics aren't sufficiently weighty to substantially detract from everything that it does right and for fans of both all things Walt Disney and kart racing, Disney Speedstorm will likely prove to be an irresistible proposition that could largely mitigate the grind of its longer term prospects. »
« Speedstorm has truly conveyed the Disney-Pixar essence into a videogame. Good first season, even though the progress in game and the rewards system lack that Disney magic. »
« Chock-full of loot boxes and ready to be monetised to within an inch of its life, it’s nonetheless built around a superb and fiendishly playable kart racer. [Issue#28, p.94] »
« Disney Speedstorm is a unique take on the Kart racing genre. Attempting to be free to play in the hopes to gain favour. Riddled with microtransactions and lacking in spirit, the game unfortunately falls a bit flat. »
« Disney Speedstorm is certainly “on a roll” with its electrifying stages and game design, but it’s certainly not “undefeated.” The confusing microtransactions pull it down and become an annoying distraction to what’s great in this kart racer. While a love for the Disney product is certainly present in Disney Speedstorm, there are a few annoying aspects of the game to be mindful of. »
« Disney Speedstorm is a fun game that we're glad to see has quite a bit of quality to it. There are some reservations about how well the free-to-play monetisation will work as we move forward, but looking just at the game itself, it’s not a bad time. There is room for this title to become very popular, especially if the right additions are made. At the very least, this can become a fun game for friends. If you're a Disney fan, it's a good way to mash together some of your favorite old movies and battle it out on the racetrack. »

« From a Great Game to a "Pay-to-Progress" Trap – Stay Away! I have been a dedicated player for months, supporting Disney Speedstorm by purchasing every single Golden Pass and spending hundreds of euros. I own over 100 racers and loved the game, but the April 9th update (Season 19) completely destroyed the **** new 'Tune Coins' economy is a total scam. I unlocked Elsa, but I can’t even perform her first upgrade despite having more than enough fragments, simply because the game locks progress behind a ridiculous paywall. The conversion rates are insulting: asking for 20,000 Season Coins for a mere 60 Tune Coins is a joke when upgrades cost **** top of that, the game has become technically unstable on PS5 and Xbox, with constant server disconnections and crashes. They turned a fun racing game into a frustrating 'Adventure Road' full of pay-walls, even for those who already paid for the premium passes.Developers are killing the community's trust. Do not spend a cent until they bring back a fair progression system. Truly a heartbreak for Disney fans. »
« Let’s not forget who Disney really is.They are the company that ruined Star Wars and then had the audacity to say:“Don’t care about the Sequels. Don’t care about the Prequels.”Anakin’s cycle, Anakin’s story, started in Episode I and ended in Episode VI.That’s it. That’s the arc. Then Disney said: “Hmmmm… we don’t really care about that,”brought back Palpatine, and completely destroyed Anakin’s legacy.Personally, I treat those as different universes. They don’t exist.Just like The Last of Us Part II.Disney is also the company that made a Snow White movie even though Walt Disney himself said: do anything, just don’t make a Snow White movie.Disney’s response?“We in it for the money, lesss gooo.”And they delivered a horrible **** don’t forget this:Star Wars has ONLY 6 episodes.About the game:If you want your favorite character, you’ll most likely have to pay.Unlocking characters naturally is very slow and difficult.Other than that, it’s basically a Mario Kart–style Disney racing **** modes are good, there are many characters, and the gameplay itself is **** game works because it’s ****’s a good free-to-play game, especially to play with family. »
« this season was supposed to be based on cars so you would think the golden pass would of had cars racers nope instead it's $69.99 as a bundle tbh gameloft if this is the future of disney speedstorm prepared to lose your loyal fans over times not a good look what so ever....... FIX THIS MESS!!! »
« Ok its very very very very mid game, its mid and it will not gonna change thats the way it its (way it is) things will EVER be the same, we DONT gotta make an change, ok mario kart from disney, but bad, really bad »
« The game itself is ok, my daughter likes it and she enjoys playing it. It is made easy for small children to play(she is 5). I installed the game in the first weeks after it was out. However why I am putting so low score for the game has to do mainly with their lack of adequate support and changes that boviously break people's profiles. It does look like a game make that usese players as milikng cows trying to take as much as possible out of them withour providing a quality service. My daughter wanted to play with more racers at that time (it was september - october 2023). What was available then was a 6400 tokens pack for approximately 60 Euro. I was a bit reluctant to spend that much money for something that might fall out of interest in a couple of weeks but I did it. and we used the tokens to unlock several racers in the game. As I expected, the game was forgotten soon and my daughter hasn't played it for a while. Last month we came back to the game only to realize that all our purchases are gone and we only have a handful of racers. I filed a support ticket with Gameloft and started a leghty discussion with them explaining what was supposed to be there but was not. I lost two weeks talking to them and they trying to convince me that they do not see any of the racers that we used to play with being unlocked. Since I did not make any screenshots of the purchases inside the game (As I supposed most normal people will also not make) I was not able to prove to them that I unlocked those racers. At some point I gave up and just requested for them to tell then where my 6400 tokens went because they were not in my account anymore. Their answer was that they cannot provide me with such information as it was too old (9 months). So now I am stuck not having my racers nor my money(tokens). My next steps will be to file a complaint to the Federal Trade commision and also to some EU commision that is responsible for the consumer rights in Europe. My point is if you still want to play the game just make sure you make some scrennshots or write down exctly what you purchase inside the game with your real money so that they are not able to lose your money as well as they did mine. »
« Great racing game suitable for children with favorite Disney character. But... The micro-transactions is very, very bad move when it is a game mainly for children. »
« I love it but you messed the crew part up I can not tell or see what the crew mates abilities are everything else is good. Just the crew mate part you should go back to the way it was I liked it that way. »
« Was an amazing game with well thought out missions and characters had everything it took to be better than mario kart for an arcade racer and yet the greed of gameloft took it all and made it a money grab a couple months ago. I miss the game when it was much more about grinding and racing and having fun to unlock things versus paying to do more often. I didn't even mind paying every few months for new characters, etc but it has gotten ridiculous now »
