Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty 3

« Combined with the single player campaign, Call of Duty's online play rounds out a very impressive package, one that throttles the senses and shakes the soul. »
« With a single player campaign that lasts a good eight hours, with loads of replay value in the form of higher difficulty levels and places to explore or do differently, plus the multiplayer mode that supports 24 players online and a thriving community that love war games as much as you should, Call of Duty 3 is one hell of an experience. »
« The graphics are top-notch and the sound helps immerse you in the wonderfully rendered action. »
« The best thing I can say about Call of Duty 3 is that after playing I actually felt like I had been through a war. There were moments when I would catch myself physically ducking or leaning my body as I tried to look around a corner. »
« The campaign is the most intense ten hours I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing in videogame. Online the game has been vastly improved. »
« Although the singleplayer campaign only lasts for 8 hours or so, this is a game that you will probably want to replay in the different difficulty setting and play for countless hours online. »
« Featuring improved multiplayer and spiffed-up graphics, Call of Duty 3 is arguably the best game in the series to date. »
« While the [single-player] combat is still brilliant and it looks a lot better, the unskippable cutscenes, unvaried locations, irritating characters and mini-games all really grate. However, adding in the much improved multiplayer with a variety of cool vehicles, Treyarch has really rounded off Infinity Ward's vision. [Dec 2006, p.90] »
« Call of Duty 3 on PlayStation 2 is one of the strongest World War II shooters on the platform and a big step up in terms of intensity and presentation. The game focuses on the Normandy breakout, and it does an excellent job of making battles feel chaotic, fast-paced, and cinematic. What really stands out is the variety in gameplay. The missions feel more dynamic, with vehicle sections, large-scale battles, and different objectives that keep things fresh throughout the campaign. Compared to earlier entries, the action feels more immersive and **** controls and mechanics are solid for the PS2, and while the graphics are limited by the hardware, the game still delivers impressive scenes and strong atmosphere. The sound design and voice acting also help bring the battlefield to life.Overall, Call of Duty 3 is an exciting and memorable experience. It improves on previous games in many ways and delivers one of the most fun and intense campaigns on the system. »
« 9.2 - Call of Duty 3 delivers an intense WWII experience with strong storytelling and cinematic battles. The campaign stands out by showing multiple Allied perspectives, adding depth and variety. Gunplay feels solid, and the chaos of war is captured well. While graphics and AI show their age today, the immersive atmosphere and engaging missions still make it a memorable and highly enjoyable entry in the series. »
« I think this is a decent entry. The gameplay, well it's still fun to play. The graphics and multiplayer are also nice too. Though the missions can feel to long sometimes and poor places where objects are placed. The campaigns are entertaining too watch too. »
« [SPOILER ALERT: This review contains spoilers.] »
« Doesn't quite have the polish or the spectacle of other entries, but still well-built excursion through multiple campaigns of WW2. »
