Official Xbox Magazine 100/100

« Simply put, Call of Duty 4 does everything right and nearly nothing wrong. But where it elevates itself above even the best 360 shooters is how all of the good stuff is ludicrously good. The campaign never lets up, while multiplayer is a triple-A affair in itself. [Dec 2007, p.36] »

GamePro 100/100

« I seriously cannot think of a single flaw in CoD4, and trust me, I looked for them. From the amazing graphics to the intense and compelling single-player campaign to the feature loaded and addictive multiplayer, this game has it all. »

GameDaily 100/100

« This shooter is so addictive, gorgeous (both visually and aurally) and unrivaled that it demands your immediate attention. »

Game Informer 100/100

« Start to finish, online or off, Call of Duty 4 is solid gold. Some might decry the single-player’s short length or that it’s more of the same, but its amazing quality and the Arcade mode...more than make up for it. Infinity Ward has delivered on every front, and there is no question in my mind that this is the best action shooter that I have ever played. »

GameSpy 100/100

« It's a rarity to play a game as highly polished and as well-crafted as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. We cannot recommend it enough and fans of the series are getting just what they've been wishing for since "CoD2" released over two years ago. »

PGNx Media 100/100

« Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare shows that you don’t have to revolutionize a series to invigorate it. »

G4 TV 100/100

« Rarely does a game shine in every area and accomplish everything it sets out to do. Call of Duty 4 is unquestionably one of those rare titles...It may not revolutionize the shooter genre, but it comes damn close to perfecting it. »

Yahoo! 100/100

« Much like they did in Call of Duty 2, the developers at Infinity Ward have set the new standard for scripted cinematic spectacle. »

JaidenMC 9/10

« Talk about an all-time classic. Truly one of the most groundbreaking and industry defining video games ever made. With so many firsts for the gaming industry, it’s hard to not ignore. From the groundbreaking campaign, to the iconic multiplayer, to the firsts like create a class, camos, and the fast-paced gameplay, there is a lot to say when it comes to the important, impact, and legacy of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, that there is so much to absolutely love no doubt. Modern Warfare, while not absolutely perfect, is no better than that of a near-perfect score of a 9.5 out of 10. Truly a fantastic game that still stands the test of its time still to this day. »

DarkMythHunter 10/10

« 9.6 – Call of Duty 4 revolutionizes the series with modern combat, cinematic set pieces, and tight, responsive gameplay. Its story, pacing, and multiplayer redefine the FPS genre. »

« I can say that this game is the father of story-driven FPS titles. It offers a great experience with its timeless design. However, the aiming mechanics feel inconsistent and difficult to play when they are ported from consoles to PC. »
