There's simply no other shooter that lets you wage war on a scale this huge, but even better is the infinite number of satisfying ways to lay the hurt down on your opponents. »

Outside of the annoying Battlelog and a tacked-on, uninspired co-op mode consisting of six short standalone missions, the only downside to Battlefield 3 is the lack of substantial changes to the multiplayer formula. « Battlefield 3 is a clear example of how games used to be made. Looking at everything that came after it, it’s easy to say that this is the best entry in the entire series. Yes, by today’s standards it may feel outdated — and that’s fair — but the level of quality it set was so high that most of the following games never managed to reach it. Only its direct successor came close by doing the same things slightly better. It’s honestly disappointing to realize that the later entries in the series started to stand out — and not in a good way. Battlefield 3 had everything: an engaging single-player campaign, breathtaking musical score, and large-scale multiplayer battles that brought enjoyment to hundreds of thousands of players. It’s no surprise that after so many unsuccessful releases, Battlefield 6 tried to take inspiration from this era of the series. Today, the multiplayer is mostly dead, but the game is still absolutely worth playing for those who never experienced its story campaign. »
