Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2

« Battlefield 2142 delivers a sci-fi themed experience using the familiar Battlefield style. While the setting may have changed a bit, the overall gameplay hasn't. »
« Rampaging counter-measures aside; Battlefield 2142 is the latest and greatest release in the series and is well worth every pound/dollar/euro. »
« As a new title, Battlefield 2142 holds its own. For a team-based shooter, you can,t do much better with what,s available today, and if you,re looking for a game to move your clan to, this may be what you,re looking for. »
« Instead of just tacking some curvaceous metal scraps onto otherwise ordinary buildings, the maps feature a cohesive vision of the not-too-distant future. »
« It's a great experience jumping off of an exploding Titan and surviving, knowing it was your DemoPaks that blew up the reactor core. »
« Battlefield 2142 is more of a mod of the very well made Battlefield 2, but still a must for online gamers. »
« A great game. However, it isn’t as big of an improvement as "Battlefield 2" was over "Battlefield 1942." The new ranking system and unlocks will definitely keep fans of the series coming back for more. »
« It's certainly not gong to supersede the increasingy popular "Battlefield 2," as most of its merits merely held over from its predecessor, but nevertheless it's a brilliant evolution of one of the greatest online shooters ever made. And it's got giant walking tanks. [Dec 2006, p.62] »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« The interface is wonderful. You have so much information immediately available to you. Google Maps always has a minimap in the lower left corner, which gives you a good overview of the area. Getting information about people gives you a clear, clear window. Hacking offers a menu with easily recognizable icons, so you always know what your button presses will do. »
« Best battlefield in series. Nice robots, tanks, weapon, TITANS IS MY LOVE FOREVER. BEST BATTLEFIELD. »

« A low entry title into the franchise. The core gameplay is the best out of the Refractor engine BF games, so why the relatively low score? Because it's inferior to BF2 in almost every other department. Singleplayer: at launch only 5 maps were available for singleplayer and you needed to be connected online to even play the singleplayer. This was a new "feature" that prevented players from actually playing even the singleplayer if the server providers were to abruptly shut down. Map design and Titan: some of the least compelling in the series and is apparently due to new hires in the company being assigned to create them. A total of 10 maps were featured on release and another 10 were added by game patches. A new game mode premiered in 2142 called Titan mode, a heavily modified variant of the original conquest. Instead of capturing flags, you capture silos that bring the health of the enemy Titan's shields down. Instead of reducing enemy ticket count to 0, you reduce the enemy Titan's shield down to 0 either by controlling silos or destroying the interior of the Titan after breaching There are fewer weapons and vehicles in previous titles but more gadgets. »
« If I could give this game a 0 and 10 at the same time I would. Why a zero? Because EA didn't give this game the love and care it needed to thrive into something so much bigger and better. Why a 10? Because this game is the pinnacle of Battlefield creativity and you need only look at the structure of the TITAN gamemode to see why. There was so much untapped potential in this game but EA left it to rot after birthing it. »
