Battlefield 4, développé par EA Digital Illusions CE et édité par Electronic Arts, est sorti le 29 octobre 2013 sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 4 et Xbox One. Ce jeu de tir, de simulation et de stratégie, propulsé par le moteur Frostbite 3 et protégé par la gestion des droits numériques Origin, propose une campagne solo intense située dans un contexte de crise internationale, où le joueur incarne Recker au sein de l'escouade Tombstone et doit notamment évacuer une personnalité américaine de Shanghai. La campagne principale est jouable en environ six heures, tandis qu'une partie complétionniste atteint les dix-sept heures et demie. L'Édition Premium regroupe les cinq packs d'extension avec vingt nouvelles cartes et des missions exclusives, des options de personnalisation, une position prioritaire dans les files d'attente ainsi que douze Battlepacks bonus, le tout pour un prix de 39,99 euros. Les champs de bataille dynamiques et la présence de nombreux véhicules permettent des batailles à 64 joueurs. La presse a salué une expérience multijoueur améliorée par rapport à l'opus précédent et une réalisation visuelle remarquée, tandis que certains joueurs expriment leur frustration face à l'intelligence artificielle ou à divers bugs, tout en relevant la qualité de la campagne. Le titre affiche un score Metacritic de 81 et un score OpenCritic de 79.

« BF4 foi um mix de contemplação e frustração. Gráficos absurdos de lindos e umas das melhores jogabilidades de um FPS, até para os padrões atuais. Entretanto, o excesso de Bugs e a ia extremamente quebrada atrapalham a experiência do jogo. O Multiplayer até hoje é divertidíssimo. »
