Ys I & II Chronicles
Ys I & II Chronicles, développé et co-édité par Nihon Falcom avec XSEED Games, est paru le 24 décembre 2009 sur PlayStation Portable et PC. Ce remake des deux premiers opus de la série Ys, classée dans le genre jeu de rôle, propose des graphismes retravaillés en 2D dessinée haute définition et une bande-son réarrangée, tout en offrant la possibilité de conserver les musiques originales ou un style visuel alternatif pour les personnages. Quatre niveaux de difficulté et un mode contre-la-montre viennent compléter cette version présentée comme la plus aboutie des débuts de la saga. La presse a salué la transition réussie du titre, RPG Fan jugeant l'expérience agréable même pour les joueurs aguerris, tandis que NintendoWorldReport y a vu un jeu ancien au vernis moderne malgré des mécaniques primitives. Certains joueurs, à l'image d'un avis publié sur Metacritic, regrettent toutefois un titre archaïque où la progression peut nécessiter un guide, tout en reconnaissant une ambiance globale réussie. L'ensemble affiche une note moyenne agrégée de 65,84.
