Xenoblade Chronicles 2

« The overall depth of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and how well it all ties together is astounding. Though higher expectations mean it is less of a stunning revelation than the first game, Monolith Soft has risen up tall to meet those expectations and delivered spectacularly in every area. 2017 has been one of the greatest years in RPG history; Xenoblade Chronicles 2 caps that off in mesmerising fashion by being one of the finest titles of the year. »

Universo Nintendo 100/100

« Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a game that impresses by its size and its ambition. After more than 160 hours necessary to complete 100% of the game I can say that it is a gift for any fan of RPGs, being one of the most impressive games to have in the first year of a console. With varied and very beautiful music this game will guarantee dozens of hours of fun. With so many excellent qualities, Xenoblade 2 is a must-have game in your library and will make you little by little enchanted by these incredible characters. »

« Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the best JRPG in years. The strategy combat has improved compared with previous instalments, it features a deep story and a huge world full of content. This is one of the best games that 2017 has offered. »

Cheat Code Central 96/100

« If you are willing to be patient and put the time in, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 offers a huge world with lots of blades, places to explore, and people to help. »

DualShockers 95/100

« Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of those RPGs that I didn't want to end. Luckily, there is enough post-game content to satisfy players looking to sink 100s of hours into more adventures with Rex and the party. »

NintendoWorldReport 95/100

« Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of the finest JRPGs of the generation and perhaps of all time. »

IGN Japan 95/100

« Though its mechanics are not always well explained, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 offers a timeless tale of adventure and an incredibly deep battle system. »

Multiplayer.it 94/100

« Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a JRPG masterpiece. It feels derivative at times and does not always inspire the same shock and awe like the first Xenoblade Chronicles did 6 years ago but it flows better, not to mention it's longer, meatier and more focused. »

« Let’s be honest, I don’t think we need to pretend anymore. No one booted up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for “the plot,” “the combat system,” or “the emotional themes of fate and identity” or whatever nonsense people try to say in interviews. That’s all PR talk. The real core gameplay loop is extremely simple: walk → fight monster → cutscene → Pyra/Mythra appear → brain stops working → repeat. At a certain point I stopped even trying to progress the story because I realized I was no longer playing the game. I was just waiting for the next scheduled appearance of Pyra or Mythra like it was a limited-time event in a live service game. And the game knows this. It has to. Because there is no way someone accidentally designs two characters like that and then builds an entire RPG around them and claims it’s “coincidental storytelling focus.” It becomes less of a JRPG and more of a psychological test: “How long can you concentrate on political intrigue and world-ending stakes while these two are on screen?” Answer: not long. The real controversy isn’t even whether it’s “too much” or “not too much.” The real controversy is that the game forces you to choose between two equally catastrophic outcomes: Try to understand the plot, Or acknowledge what is actually happening on screen. And once you accept that reality, there is only one meaningful question left in the entire game: Pyra or Mythra? And I still don’t have an answer. And I think that’s what the game was really about all along. »

« Without a doubt my best Game i have ever played! The Combat feels so good and has a good difficulty and it has a great Story! The only downside is that it runns pretty unstable and looks not too good. BUT i'll still recommend it to everyone out there who has a Nintendo Switch :) »

« I didn't get the game. I'm a xeno fan but this game didn't resonate with me at all, I think it's too shonen like at times (but not in a good sense necessarily) and the story takes a long time to take off (like 5 entire chapters) and it's such a shame because it tries to speak about a lot of things like religion, politics, scarcity of land, poverty, exploitation, slavery, heaven, depression and creation, but I feel like it never acomplishes nothing with anything it tries to say. The gameplay improves form what Xenoblade 1 did. I also think rex is just not a good protagonist overall, I'm not saying he's not a good character but saying he's a good protagonist is taking it too far, it feels like I'm reading a really bad book. I also feel like this game is more of a spin off of its prequel dlc than a standalone game in its own. But I still have one ort two good memories of this game so not everything's lost. »

« XC2 is a good game with some interesting story beats, cool environments to explore, massive enemies to battle, and a combat system that can make you feel accomplished once you learn how it all works together. Many of the side quests are fun and it's satisfying to unlock new items in towns and eventually become partners with local merchants by investing in their stores. Sadly, some of the enjoyment of the game is undermined by the completely unnecessary sexism included. One of the primary characters has a scantily character model with obscenely large breasts and side interactions about how to better please her master, another has a multi-generational family tradition of building maid-costume-wearing-robots designed for combat, maid-duties, and literally shaking their ass in a bunny costume. I can hardly roll my eyes hard enough. If you can stomach this level of pervy pandering, there is also a good game in here. Bu it would be nice if the developers would recognize that their audience isn't all horny pre-teens who like the idea of big-booby-sword-girls who could destroy the world but instead choose to stay home and do the cooking. »

« This game has flaws, many flaws, it's presentation is rough, and it is front loaded, meaning most who pick up the game gave to get through the worst part of the game first. But by god, the latter half of this game is truly spectacular, I have no trouble calling this my favourite game of all time. »

« Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a very ambitious game so much so that it really damages the very fabric of the game. I've experienced my game crashing several times in my playthrough. There's also issues with the health system and combat in my opinion. Overall the story is a good one but if we compare this game to Xenoblade Chronicles 1. It unfortunately just falls way too short. A good RPG but not a great one. »
