Underkeep est un hommage affectueux aux jeux de rôle classiques des années 90, avec des combats au tour par tour et des déplacements sur une grille, qui transpose le meilleur des « dungeon crawlers » old school à l'époque moderne.

Underkeep fait revivre l'esprit des « dungeon crawlers » classiques : déplacement sur une grille, tension qui monte progressivement et combats tactiques. En même temps, le jeu offre une expérience fluide et agréable grâce à des commandes modernes, des graphismes clairs et des améliorations de jouabilité bien pensées, tout en conservant l'essence même du genre.

Constituez votre groupe, partez à l'aventure dans des donjons créés à la main, discutez avec d'étranges habitants, découvrez des passages secrets, résolvez des énigmes anciennes et affrontez des combats où la stratégie est tout aussi importante que le courage.

COMPOSITION DE L'ÉQUIPE

Choisissez quatre aventuriers dont les forces et les faiblesses détermineront si vous survivrez. La synergie est essentielle : une bonne équipe renforcera votre stratégie, une mauvaise vous creusera la tombe.

DONJONS EN DIRECT

Chaque couloir est créé à la main, chaque pièce recèle une intention. Parcourez des donjons humides, des camps abandonnés, rencontrez des fantômes, découvrez d'étranges rituels et des symboles mystérieux, et prenez des décisions dont les conséquences seront plus profondes que vous ne le pensez.

BATAILLES TACTIQUES

Les combats au tour par tour récompensent ceux qui planifient, maîtrisent l'espace et gèrent judicieusement leur endurance et leur mana. Les audacieux sont récompensés. Les imprudents sont punis.

LES SECRETS CACHÉS

Des alcôves cachées, des faux murs, des boss dissimulés et des énigmes qui s'intègrent parfaitement à l'univers du jeu, sans nuire à l'immersion.

CONFORT MODERNE

Des commandes fluides et un retour d'information clair permettent de maintenir la fluidité de l'exploration sans pour autant nuire au suspense.

Closer to the Depths

We Are Getting There. Almost.We are slowly approaching the point where we can finally talk about a release date.Not just yet. But we are getting closer. A Lot Has Changed Since the DemoSince Next Fest, Underkeep has grown quite a bit. Not only in content, but also in atmosphere, systems, encounters, and overall identity.Some parts of the game became darker.Some stranger.Some things are better left beneath the surface.We’ve been expanding the later parts of the game world, including Underkeep Tower, Swamp, Dungeon ruins, Forgotten gardens, and several larger story encounters.The Mushroom questline from the demo is now part of the full game, altough slightly altered. If you are not familiar with it yet, let’s just say the mushrooms have some... questionable ideas about family.Combat, Classes, and ProgressionThe Paladin is fully happening, including Zeal-based resource system.We have added race traits to bring more variety to party creation. At the moment, we are not planning direct trait selection, though this may become an option in the future.Ravens are finally beginning to shine with their mutations, and some of them are genuinely absurd. The main purpose of mutations is simply to be fun and unpredictable, so we understand they may occasionally upset dedicated min-maxers. In that case... Ravens may simply not be the right race for you. We still love them.We continue adding more special encounter options and outcomes. Until now, these choices were usually beneficial, but you can no longer assume they are always the safest or “correct” option.We have added three difficulty settings that can be changed during the game. These primarily change combat difficulty. We hope this allows both newcomers and challenge seekers to enjoy the game their own way.Polish. Then More Polish.A huge amount of development time has gone into things many of you pointed out after the demo. Underkeep - News From the Depths

Once again, thank you to everyone who played the demo during Steam Next Fest and took the time to share your thoughts. The feedback, bug reports, balance suggestions, and discussions on the forums have been incredibly helpful.Of course, not every suggestion can make it into the final game, but your feedback helps us clearly see which topics matter most to the community.Here is a short summary of the most frequently asked questions.LocalizationWe will announce the officially supported languages closer to the release date.For additional languages, we would like to explore community collaboration. If everything goes well, this should allow more languages to be added after release.Release DateWe do not have a specific release date yet.We prefer to announce it only once we are confident the game is ready. However, 2026 remains our target release window.What We’re Working OnNew Character PortraitsOur artist clearly caught a surge of inspiration, the latest portraits speak for themselves. AlchemyWe now have an alchemy system.Under the hood, it’s fairly complex, but our goal is to keep the interface simple and intuitive. Most importantly, we don’t want alchemy to feel mandatory, it should be easy to use and naturally fit into your playstyle. Alongside that, we’ve added several new potions for a variety of situations, giving players more tools to adapt to different situations.Some Other Changes You Might Find InterestingThe Paladin is definitely coming to the game. Skills and mechanics are still in progress, but we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by his resource system, it works quite differently from traditional stamina or mana-based classes.Staves now have long reach, so a mage without mana won’t just stand by while others handle the fight.The Blood Mage and Thief are already shaping up to unleash chaos among enemies. The Blood Mage in particular stands out with the ability to cast spells using the bones of fallen enemies.Teleportation gates are now functional across the game world, allowing for easier travel between locations.We are continuing to tune the economy and shops.And of course, we’re fixing a large number of smaller issues and improvements, not only based on your feedback, but also from our ongoing internal testing.There’s still plenty ahead of us, but we’re moving forward step by step. Steam Next Fest Is Live - Thank You

First of all, thank you.The demo may be short, but the impact of your feedback is not.The amount of suggestions, bug reports, and thoughtful discussions over the last week has exceeded our expectations.Being compared to legends like Eye of the Beholder or Lands of Lore means a lot to us, and it certainly raises the bar. We’ll do our best to meet it.We’ve read almost everything (truly), and we’ve taken notes. Here’s a small preview of what is already being improved or confirmed for the full version:Confirmed ImprovementsMore character portraits + custom namesImproved turning animation (already updated, including optional movement animation!)Clearer tutorial flow (yes, the breakable crates caught many of you)Difficulty settingsSave system improvementsCustom key bindings and further controller refinementsImproved UI clarity and overall readabilityOptional toggles for many effects such as screen shake, party impact sounds, tooltip delays etc.Hi-res encounter images (images in the demo already updated)Many additional suggestions have been added to our internal list for future updates, especially visual polish and broader design improvements.LocalizationWe want localization.
