The Lord of the Rings: Conquest
The Lord of the Rings: Conquest

« We are going to go ahead and declare The Lord of the Rings: Conquest as a great game concept. »
« Lord of the Rings Conquest succeeds in bringing Tolkien's fans a solid videogame, with intense action and a good representation of battles. But there is a strong difference between playing it multiplayer and single player, less fun than the former. Solo players should think twice the purchase. »
« The Lord of the Rings: Conquest is a fun title that should keep many diehard fans, especially younger players, engaged. However, if you're looking for something with a bit more depth than button-mashing your way to glory, you will likely find the game shallow and frustrating. »
« Diehard fans of both online, class-based games and The Lord of the Rings might want to invest the sixty bucks, but if redundant and unimaginative gameplay are things you despise, you'll want to steer clear. »
« Lord of the Rings: Conquest is a videogame too far from excellence to be recommendable without making some kind of warning marks before. Those who don't like the senseless button smashing will not enjoy this game, but if you are a fan of both the Tolkien universe and the online battles you will find here an honest but reiterative entertainment. »
« The graphics look decent (despite some broken animations), and the game allows players to smash both Orcs and Hobbits. That said, the mindless button mashing grows redundant and some enemies are mind-numbingly difficult. »
« It passes out achievements like their cheap candy and there is a certain charm when playing as your favorite characters. It also draws heavily from the movies and, like it did to me, might reignite your desire to watch them. Yet, none of these traits make for great gameplay. With short campaigns, frustrating combat, and chaotic multiplayer LotR: Conquest feels like a $60 reminder that Peter Jackson makes awesome movies. »
« While there are some great elements to multiplayer game, Conquest comes across as a somewhat rushed game that falls into the realm of pretty average. »
« A great idea, that unfortunately is not fully realized. It is a shame Pandemic Studios never got a shot at making a follow-up to polish up some of their ideas. »
« My first experience with the PS3. As a superfan of Lord of the Rings and the Star Wars Battlefront games, this was basically made for me, however, I can see why it isn't critically adored. »
« Why are people talking down on this game, this game is very fun in my eyes, the game kinda reminds me of Battlefront, (then again, it was developed by Pandemic studios who also developed Battlefront) I played it with my brother and we had a pretty good time, so if you find this game for cheap, give it a try, you might like as much as i did. »
« Definitely such an average game. Has some cool missions but combat is so repetitive. Too many defend the zone objectives as well. »
« I don't get all the hate for this game. The combat is very fun even if melee is a little clunky sometimes. The ability to play as the forces of Mordor adds a nice spin on the story even if the initial campaign doesn't add anything new to it. The environment is straight out of the movies and looks great for when it was made. Online was a blast too. In fact my biggest complaint for this game is that they took down the online servers even though people still used them. If online was still working I might rate this a 10. Overall, LOTR Conquest does a great job for the type of game it is. If you're looking for an RPG with skill trees or a game that's hailed for its exceptional story then this might not be the one for you. But if you want a split-screen action based game where you can have fun taking down hordes of enemies with bow, blade, or magic then look no further. »
« Pros- ● Provides a challenge ● Pretty good graphics ● Good character options ● Plays through all the battles in “Lord of The Rings” and more ● Extra special features ● Online game Cons ● When you lose a level you have to restart the level, not just at the last mission completed in that level “Lord of The Rings: Conquest” is a fantasy action game on Xbox 360 that takes place in J.R.R Tolkien’s Middle-Earth. This video game was created by EA and Pandemic with Dolby Digital, Microsoft, and the creators of the movies (based on Tolkien’s books), New Line Cinema. This game is rated T due to the violence. The controls aren’t that complicated, and every class of character has special abilities. When you get to a certain point in a level, you will be asked if you would like to play as the hero for that level, like Aragorn or Gandalf. There is a specific hero for every level. Who wouldn’t want to be their favorite character? The only thing that annoys me about this game is that if you fail a level you have to start it all over from the beginning. It isn’t that bad if you have a ton of time to spare, but if you only have a bit to play before you need to do something important and you just failed that level, it gets frustrating. The levels only get harder. Not that I’m complaining, I like a game that keeps you interested. If it was boring and easy, that would take all the fun away. I feel that this game is amazing! I mean, you get to digitally fight in all of the battles of Middle-Earth during The War of The Ring for only about $25 if you get the game used from Gamestop. When I opened the case and looked at the disk there were no scratches indicating use, and everything was there. The game itself had no glitches to speak of and was very entertaining. After completing the campaign, you can go on another mode that you unlock and you can play on the enemy’s side. Every level you complete you get an achievement. Also, there is a way that you can game online with others. The graphics are good, the game keeps you interested, it’s challenging, and you can be your favorite characters at different points in the game. I wasn’t a fan of what happens if you fail a level, but that’s not really a big deal to me. I would definitely recommend this game to any and all “Lord of The Rings” fans out there! »
