Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« An indispensable game, combining arguably the finest RPG/adventure the 16-bit era ever produced (even compared to the likes of Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy VI) with an expertly realised multiplayer rendition of Zelda. »
« The adventure is long, involving, challenging and presented to perfection with beautiful graphics and a stunning soundtrack. »
« "Four Swords" is the perfect multiplayer Zelda game. It combines amazing cooperative gameplay with competitive gameplay at the same time. The end result is a multiplayer game like no other. »
« A flawless masterpiece, Link to the Past drastically improved upon its predecessors by introducing a more linear framework for the player to explore (rather than the vast open-endedness of the two previous games), a better interface and controls, and dungeon puzzles and layouts designed in such a manner that can only be called perfect. »
« A thoughtful, huge, rewarding classic. »
« A long, challenging quest that holds up well to repeated play. Younger players who never had a SNES will find this game an excellent warm-up for the soon-to-be-released "Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker" for the GameCube. »
« A Link to the Past is one of the best SNES games ever made, and it's found a new home on GBA, losing absolutely nothing in the translation. [Dec 2002, p.93] »
« The puzzles are still clever, the dungeons are still brilliantly laid out, the control is spot-on, and the graphics still look sweet. [Jan 2003, p.64] »

« A Link to the Past ist mit DAS beste Top Down Zelda was ich je gespielt habe.
« Just perfect, i really can't Name a single bad Thing about the game. It's Just a perfect 2D Zelda, the SMW of Zelda »
« “The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past foi uma experiência muito sólida e marcante, principalmente pela progressão constante e sensação de evolução ao longo do jogo. »
« The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past / Four Swords (9.5/10) pairs a legendary solo adventure with a fun multiplayer twist. A Link to the Past delivers tight gameplay, clever dungeons, and a richly designed world that defined the series. Four Swords adds cooperative chaos with teamwork-based puzzles and fast-paced action. Together, they offer a balanced mix of classic excellence and shared excitement in one package. »
« Undoubtedly a classic, but the amount of content you’d have to repeat from dying without using save states would be really awful and the difficulty as a whole feels a little too high in general. Also the side quests and side content don’t feel super entertaining or rewarding especially compared to later entires. »
« This review is based off of A Link To The Past on the SNES. Overall, very fun game, I can see why it is considered to be a classic. My only nitpicks are that some things in the game are just way to cryptic. I understand that the older Zelda games were like that usually but some parts genuinely seemed impossible without the internet, or Nintendo Power for people of the past. Besides that, the gameplays is really fun, the dungeons are both puzzling and combat intensive. The music is really good and I never got tired of hearing it. The light world/dark world mechanic is still really cool even today. Overall a must play on the SNES. »
