Pokémon Stadium

30 avril 1999

« Besides being a really old game at this point. I have no complaints. Was honestly the best way to play pokemon. »

« Being able to bring your Pokémon to your home console for the first time, battle with them, win tournaments, or just play minigames was wild back when this came out. Even if Pokémon games now have better graphics and are on the home / hybrid console by default, I hope we get something like this, that's not really mainline, but you can use your Pokémon to fight (in the preset battles of that game, not in online tournaments), get other Pokémon as prizes (and bring them to your regular games). But perhaps a game like this isn't needed anymore with all the other Pokémon games and apps we have, and is better left untouched as a relic of the late 90s and early 00s. It was a very fun and unique experience though. »

« now this poke was dating was a great start honestly it had every single Pokemon from the very first Pokémon series where you would start from alphabetical order where they were all lined up from the evolutions in order as well in any game is a game never let it do that and put support when in order for you then you are definitely in the right game just to not worry about anything and just joy battle in friends and also trying your hardest against the CPUs which always give you that great Pokemon vibe to keep retrying »

« Really good game but it's limited in that it's just a battle simulator although it has a few extra modes like little minigames that are all good and fun. The game is literally impossible unless you port your pokemon from red, which is the intent I guess lol. »

« This Pokemon-fighting sim without a lot of the extra stuff that the main games provide scratches a certain itch for fans of this particular content. Good strategy and good replay value. The mini-games are also very fun. »

« I remember playing this Pokemon Stadium when it first released for the Nintendo 64. The mini games for pretty fun; it's got some cool modes. The battles at the time were fascinating. That said, Pokemon Stadium still has its glaring flaws in my opinion. The way this game is designed, you have to get the transfer pak and use the Pokemon you raised in Red, Blue, or Yellow to have a better chance of completing certain modes like the gym leader castle. It's going to be a long day if you use the rental Pokemon for certain modes. You basically have to get lucky to complete the game that way. Yeah, to me it felt like the AI was cheating at times. I definitely felt that way as a kid playing Pokemon Stadium. There were many times where I got frustrated and shouted at my CRT TV years ago. Even though I have plenty of negative memories of this game, I also have plenty of positive memories too. It was such a sweet feeling completing all the stadium matches, completing the gym leader castle, beating your rival, and then beating Mewtwo. My favorite part of this game is the trophy presentation scene, that moment gives me such elation that the feeling felt like I won the Super Bowl; those happy thoughts will always be in my mind for all eternity. »
