Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution, développé par CyberConnect2 et édité par Bandai Namco Games, est sorti le 11 septembre 2014 sur PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 et PC. Ce nouvel épisode de la série Ultimate Ninja Storm propose une expérience dans l'univers de NARUTO avec de nouvelles techniques, des mécaniques de jeu améliorées, plus de 100 personnages jouables et ninjas de soutien, ainsi qu'un personnage exclusif nommé Mecha-Naruto conçu par Masashi Kishimoto. Le jeu introduit des combats de ninjas avec des animations originales, de nouvelles mécaniques comme la Technique secrète combo et les attaques combinées, un mode solo intitulé Tournoi mondial des ninjas où quatre ninjas s'affrontent pour obtenir le plus d'orbes de combat, et la révélation de l'histoire inédite des origines de l'Akatsuki via des animations intégrées au gameplay. Classé dans les genres aventure et combat, il affiche un temps de completion de l'histoire principale d'environ cinq heures et une cinquantaine d'heures pour une approche complétiste.
L'accueil critique est mitigé, avec un score Metacritic de 61 et une note agrégée de 63,35. La presse a toutefois salué la diversité du titre, comme XGN qui relève que les plus de 100 personnages jouables et le système de combat amélioré rendent le jeu plus addictif et varié que jamais, tandis que Vandal y voit un titre de transition avant un quatrième épisode mais se dit très satisfait de son aspect jouable, estimant que les fans aimeront. Du côté des joueurs, certains expriment leur surprise face aux éléments de divertissement absents des précédentes opus Storm, tandis qu'un avis Steam positif juge le jeu bon sans qu'il n'égale pour autant le titre Naruto : Broken Bond.

« I thought when I told my mom to buy me this game when I was a kid I was asking for a Naruto game from the "ninja storm" series, when the game started and saw that is a "DLC like" type game I felt completely scammed, is not even good, no story, no scripted fights, if you buy this, the arcade mode and maybe multiplayer will be the only things that you will play. »
