Mario Party 9
Sorti le 2 mars 2012 sur Wii, Mario Party 9 est développé par NDCube et édité par Nintendo. Ce titre mêle aventure, réflexion et jeu de société, et propose pour la première fois dans la série des combats contre des boss à la fin de chaque stage, ainsi qu'un déplacement commun des joueurs à bord de véhicules dont l'un prend tour à tour le rôle de capitaine. Le jeu comprend 80 nouveaux minijeux et des modes permettant de jouer par courtes sessions, avec un temps de histoire principale d'environ cinq heures et une complétion estimée à plus de quatre-vingt-deux heures. La presse a salué les modifications apportées au gameplay, UGO notant que la série reste intéressante grâce à ces ajustements et Cubed3 qualifiant le titre de succès apportant une variété bienvenue. Certains joueurs, interrogés sur Metacritic, apprécient particulièrement le nouveau format en véhicule et les minijeux, tandis que d'autres y voient un jeu correct sans plus. L'ensemble affiche une note moyenne agrégée de 70,32.

« While I don't dislike this game, it also is not mario party. I genuinely think this is the best collection of minigames in any mario party, but that doesn't matter when you don't get to play them while on the boards. I don't enjoy using the car. They are trying to completely change the way mario party is played, but it doesn't work well. Bosses is a good touch, but are not enough to save the game. Is it a bad game? No. Is it a bad mario party game? Yes, and for that, I have to rate it low. Just play the earlier games or the switch titles. »

« In my opinion, mario party 9 is overhated. I started playing at Mario Party 9 and never witnessed gameplay outside the cars, yet I found this game pretty fun and I remember wasting hours in story mode. Cool collectibles and i guess some extras.. Nothing too special but a pretty fun game »

Pros:mario party 9 has by far the best mini games like: logger heads,peak precision,tuber tug,goomba bowling or launch break just to name a few. i also like the mini stars instead of the traditional ones it just seams a lot more fair. but the boss battles are definitely my highlight.also there are some gimicks but not to many like in mario party 8 and also not lacking any gimicks like in mario party super stars. cons: they added a cart. »
