Use Your Words, développé par Smiling Buddha Games, LLC et édité par Screenwave Media, est sorti le 3 avril 2017. Ce jeu indépendant classé dans les genres réflexion/puzzle et jeu de cartes et de société fonctionne sous le moteur Unity et est disponible pour 12,99 euros sur PC (Microsoft Windows), Mac, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One et Wii U.
Use Your Words se présente comme un jeu de société où les participants répondent à divers mini-jeux et invites avec les réponses les plus drôles possibles. Les joueurs utilisent leurs smartphones ou tablettes comme manettes, et ceux qui manquent d'idées peuvent recourir aux « House Answers » cachées pour piéger les autres lors du vote final. La partie se joue en local pour trois à six joueurs, avec la possibilité pour jusqu'à mille spectateurs de regarder et voter, et les joueurs distants peuvent participer via streaming ou visioconférence. Le titre comprend quatre mini-jeux : Sub The Title, qui invite à sous-titrer des extraits de films étrangers, Blank-o-Matic, où il faut compléter des phrases, EXTRA, EXTRA!, demandant de légender une photo ou de créer un titre accrocheur, et Survey Says, un tour rapide façon jeu télévisé. Parmi les fonctionnalités figurent un mode familial filtrant les contenus adultes, une bande-son vintage composée par Bob Thompson et la prise en charge des appareils compatibles HTML5. Une mise à jour a ajouté du contenu en français sur Steam sans achat supplémentaire, bien que les contenus inclus soient originellement en anglais.
L'accueil critique s'est appuyé sur ces mécaniques participatives. NintendoWorldReport a salué le fait que le jeu propose un jeu de société accessible, tandis que Nintendo Life a relevé qu'il se veut autant un déclencheur de conversation qu'un jeu, misant davantage sur la chance que sur le défi. Certains joueurs sur Metacritic ont comparé l'expérience aux jeux du pack The Jack Box Party, notant qu'il ne réinvente rien mais repose sur une base solide, alors qu'un avis positif sur Steam qualifie le concept d'amusant et la direction artistique de soignée, le présentant comme un bon jeu d'ambiance pour animer une soirée entre amis. Le score agrégé du titre est de 45,26.

« All in all, Use Your Words executes well on what it sets out to offer: An accessible party game. Your mileage will definitely vary with the amount of people you have to play with, and three people are needed at minimum to play. But if you have enough friends at your disposal there is definitely a lot of fun to be had in this game, and it will certainly create great memories with your friends and family. »
« Use Your Words is meant to be as much a conversation starter as it is a game. It’s less about challenge and more about luck, so if you’re only interested in winning you may be missing the point. It’s possible to play online, but it’s at its best when in the company of jovial friends and family members. The amusing appeal of the game may overstay its welcome, but it’s the perfect jumping on point or chaser to the larger games you’re steering people towards at your party. »

« Much like the likes of WarioWare DIY and Super Mario Maker, Use Your Words is a game that can only be as fun as you, and your friends and family, are willing to make it. It can be a bundle of laughs if your friendship group features one or two comedy geniuses, but without them it could border on the mundane. There’s only so many fart and poop jokes that people can put in as answers before it gets repetitive, and the fact that there’s nowhere else you can really go with the game once you’ve played its only mode a few times make it a tough sell at its current asking price. »

« If you like The Jack Box Party pack games Your Basically going to get the exact same game here there is nothing really new but, it is built on a strong foundation so its always going to be fun to play but, its not something that hasn't been done before to better effect. »
