PSX Brasil 85/100

« Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered reanimates the final chapter of the saga starring Raziel, with new features that go beyond a new coat of paint and help make it a more accessible and pleasant experience than it originally was. At its core, however, it's still the same game from two decades ago. »

KonsoliFIN 80/100

« Legacy of Kain: Defiance still isn't a particularly great game, but its remaster is nothing short of superb. This is how remasters are meant to be done. »

Finger Guns 80/100

« Continuing with the series' revival, Legacy of Kain: Defiance is again another spruce up of the old vampiric duo from 2003. Fans will appreciate the new look, quality of life improvements and better camera control. It may be a hard sell to newcomers, but it's still an accessible game in its own right. Paired with the Soul Reaver remasters, it's a good time to take a bite into it. »

Digital Chumps 80/100

« Outside of Defiance Remastered‘s improvements and additions, this is still very much a game of the early-2000s, warts and all. Crystal Dynamics had an engaging combat system and a complex narrative. But there’s still a tendency for fights to become repetitive, especially when Kain and Raziel aren’t vastly different from each other mechanically. The story might still bounce around in frustrating or confusing ways. Levels may go on for longer than you wish. But it is still very much a piece of gaming history that many hope will eventually see a resurgence. »

SpazioGames 79/100

« Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is a debt paid and, in many ways, a success: not a miraculous resurrection, but a restorative treatment that brings a classic back to life and makes it playable again without having to hook up an old console to the TV. »

GameBlast 75/100

« Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered fulfills its role in rescuing one of the most important chapters of one of the most remarkable narratives in video games. Even more than two decades after its original release, the game still holds up mainly due to the strength of its story, the quality of its characters, and the way it concludes the complex saga of Kain and Raziel. But not everything has aged perfectly. Some limitations of the original version remain noticeable, especially in the camera system and certain aspects of gameplay. These elements reflect the era in which the game was created and may seem strange to players accustomed to more modern action titles. »

Gaming Boulevard 75/100

« Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is a faithful and visually improved return to a cult classic that shines because of its storytelling and atmosphere rather than its gameplay. It is a remaster made for fans first, not a reinvention for a new generation. »

Gamer Social Club 70/100

« For returning fans, this is easily the definitive way to experience Kain and Raziel’s intertwined fate. For newcomers who are willing to wade into the deep lore, it’s a fascinating, if sometimes stubborn, relic of a different era. Imperfect, dramatic, and unapologetically gothic, Defiance still has fangs, even if they’re a little worn. »

« An absolutely phenomenal remaster and a genuine treat for fans. You can tell a lot of love and care from actual true fans of the series worked on this game. The biggest change and improvement - the camera. You are no longer limited to a fixed position and have free control! But you also have the option to switch back. And not just the camera, but the original graphics too. They updated character models, environments, and music. Plus they gave the player the option to change skins of the characters if you prefer something different. If you liked the original game, you'll love this! The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because of the actual core original game itself - it's levels start to get really repetitive in the mid-section of the game with all of the citadels you have to play through as both characters. It was a flaw back in 2003, and remains today. But the new camera makes it a bit more tolerable. Truly a fantastic remaster of an old classic. »

« Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is the remaster fans have waited for **** isn’t a remake, and it doesn’t try to be. It’s a careful restoration, packed with extras, featuring meaningful improvements and absolute respect for the original **** those who love the series, it’s a must. For new players, it’s finally the ideal way to experience the final chapter of the Kain/Raziel saga. »

« Terrible "remaster" the franchise was in desperate need of either a reboot or an RE style remake to revive it... they decided to give it a remaster that could pass off as ps1 port »

kainzel88 10/10

« It’s by far the remaster that has received the most care. The camera change has been absolutely vital for the game — the original camera was horrible, and this improvement makes the combat much more satisfying. The new content, even though it doesn’t change the story at all (thankfully), is great. Getting the platinum trophy is tough, which is something I actually like. =) »

« Questa è una remaster fatta con i controfiocchi. Ancora divertente nel 2026 »

Covag 10/10

« Una remaster fatta con il cuore. Un sacco di informazioni sulla lore. Gioco restsurato alla grandisdima »
