- Rogue-Like Dungeons - Descend into special locked challenge dungeons that require a rare crafted key, where enemy levels increase as you progress and player teleport is disabled. There is no way out except to complete the dungeon or die trying.
- Dynamic Weather - The world is brought to life with region-specific climates and a variety of weather effects. A sunny day can cloud over with mild rain showers that builds into a booming thunderstorm. Variable wind gusts blow grass and affect objects like windmills.
- Recipe Based Crafting - Collect over 250 crafting recipes that allow you to combine salvaged components into unique crafted items and then, later, use those basic crafted items with higher-tiered recipes to complete items of amazing power.
- Reclaim Skill Points - The ability to pay to reclaim points alleviates the fear and frustration of having to make early, uninformed skill choices that could permanently gimp a character.

After the new update, the game keeps crashing every 15 minutes. Before the DLC, I could play at 120 FPS in 1440p on ultra settings without any crashes, but now I barely scrape past 60 FPS in the new area and the game won't stop crashing. It's honestl...
Extremely deep H&S, probably the best in its "Titan Quest" genre. Coming back playing it almost every year since 2016 thanks to the updates & DLCs. 10/10

Grim Dawn v1.3.0.1 Hotfix 1 is now live
The team is thrilled to see the warm reception that Fangs of Asterkarn has gotten so far. We set a new all-time concurrent player record (outside of a free trial weekend), which shows just how many of you were eager to jump back into Cairn. As always, a smooth experience is our utmost priority. We have just pushed our first hotfix to address critical issues, including some of your recent feedback. The theme of our last expansion is letting you play the game the way you want. To that end, we will be making the following changes (very soon):The Dread has proven to be a contentious addition. While we are pleased with the challenge it offers and do not plan to nerf it, we understand that its regular and unexpected interruptions can be frustrating to some of you. As such, we will be adding an (optional) method to disable the Dread from spawning in Ascendant mode unless you specifically boost its spawn rate in the altar. This would be reversible if you later change your mind.In terms of quality of life, we are looking to add an Evade Targeting toggle for WASD controls that allows you to select between mouse cursor or player-facing targeting for the Evade ability. We will also introduce a new BIG Cursor toggle for those BIG screens. Finally, we will continue to monitor the forums to address cases where monster damage feels unfair/too high, and will be making adjustments accordingly. An update and expansion this big is going to have some growing pains, but we think our history of udpates speaks for itself in that regard. We expect this should address the most pressing pain points the community is currently experiencing with v1.3.0 and Fangs of Asterkarn, but of course this is only the beginning of our post-release support. In the meantime, enjoy Asterkarn!V1.3.0.1 Hotfix 1\Addressed some UI blurriness at default UI scale.Added support for Lenovo controller glyphs (ex. Legion Go S)Reduced search box string length requirement for better language support.Improved WASD controls with hotslots on cooldown.Adjusted name display position at top of HUD for Chinese fonts.Fixed an issue with terrain shaders appearing as black boxes or blown out textures on Medium or lower settings.Fixed an issue where an entire stack of items could get consumed by the Ascension Altar in Multiplayer.Fixed an issue where Werewolf and Wereraven forms could results in crashes in Multiplayer.Fixed an issue where + Summon Limit modifiers would sometimes not work in Multiplayer.Fixed an issue with controller hot slot toggle to only include one wereform bar per wereform.Fixed an issue where Winds of Asterkarn would leave visual FX behind in Multiplayer.Fixed a crash with on screen keyboard after UI scaling unloads font styles.\Reduced burst potential of some early game bosses at lower levels (ex. Queen Ravna, Zarthuzellan, Bonehunter, Yurra, Blackheart).Reduced Boss health at levels 1-35.Slightly reduced the base chance the Dread appears in Ascendant Mode and increased the minimum kills before it can spawn again. To compensate the effects of Celestial Essence on the Dread's spawn rate have been increased. All remaining localization has now been added in all languages.Enabled the missing Fangs of Asterkarn load screen.Necromancer's Skeletons now have an additional 10% Life Leech Resist.Fixed an issue where players that reset their faction with Barrowholm could not interact with a certain NPC in Asterkarn to complete the associated quest.Fixed an issue where one-handed melee Avalanche attacks would deal off-hand % Weapon damage instead of main-hand.Fixed an issue with some inconsistent behavior in Werewolf and Wereraven animations, in regards to whether they hit with the main hand or both hands.Fixed an issue where the Source of the Corruption Kurn Channelers would not all respawn if they were not all killed in one session.Fixed various issues with Localization (ex. missing symbols). If you spot more of these, please report them!Known issue: we have discovered some tags were not properly translated in all languages and are displayed as Missing Tag. These have been forwarded to localization to be addressed for a future hotfix.\Fixed an issue where the granted skill on the Awakened Black Grimoire of Og'Napesh would not summon a pet.Fixed an issue where Occultist Hellhounds turned into Wendigos would only deal damage with Infernal Breath once per cast, instead of twice.
A new expansion and the ability to be a crow wizard has me enjoying a 10-year-old action RPG for the first time
I'm not even that far into my first ever playthrough of Grim Dawn and I can already see why I've heard people praise this game for the last 10 years. It's old, sure, but it's a surprisingly tight action RPG that despite its age hasn't been left to rust... Read more.

Critiques de la Presse (Metacritic)
« There is no question that Grim Dawn moves along familiar lines: Base classes, a tragic world inhabited by monsters in a wide variety of flavors, nearly constant loot drops, action-oriented combat, somewhat "lite" yet interesting story, etc. Somehow, though, Grim Dawn just does it better than any other ARPG in recent memory. »
« Grim Dawn is one of the easiest ARPGs to recommend in recent years. »
« A quality classic ARPG that recovers the essence and spirit of Titan Quest and send us back to a different time in the best possible way. Lots of content, tons of details and a excellent experience overall. »
« A little daunting at first, but with some theorycrafting Grim Dawn proves to be an extremely enjoyable bit of hack and slash. [Issue#249, p.56] »
« Grim Dawn is one of the best action-RPGs out there, combining excellent hack and slash action with a world and progression curve that makes it worth fighting through. Alone or with friends, it’s hour after hour of top quality combat and looting, with the promise of many more excellent dark times to come. »
« Grim Dawn scratches the right action RPG itch with a plenty of loot to hoard and a decent skill system that offers plenty of options to build the perfect demon-blasting hero. The only problem is the lack of a proper endgame, as the non-randomized maps and locations becoming too familiar too fast. [May 2016] »
« Grim Dawn takes the best of a lot of other action RPS and creates well thought out and yet original hack & slay fun. »
« Grim Dawn is a worthy spiritual successor for the Titan Quest series. A great action-RPG. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« I’ve only completed normal difficulty of the base game. Overall, it’s ok, very similar to Titan Quest gameplay. Lots of exploring, boring at times since loot is disappointing. Will pickup expansions when on sale. Hoping higher difficulty results in better loot and gameplay. »
« Game is mostly pretty good. 1) poor map system. Having to be on top of the dungeon for the map location to be shown is not good. Not being able to leave map markers is also another bad design. 2) some monsters are incredibly unbalanced. After finishing the campaign and beating the end boss reasonably easily (1 death) on normal difficulty, I returned to normal difficulty to do bounties in Homestead to boost my reputation with that faction. I ended up getting a beserker dangerous den elite who is basically unkillable for my character. Not being able to cancel the bounty means bounties for that faction are effectively locked unless I go to a harder difficulty, which my character isn't ready for. I was having zero problems with other mobs and farming prior to said overpowered elite. Basically 1 shots me with near 8k health and his health steal sees him go from half health to full health after 1 successful hit on my character. That's OP AF. 3) the fandom is well, the worst type of Apple fanboy. Unhelpful, rude and condescending. HARD PASS. It's not a way to welcome new players to the game. One of the worst fandoms I've experienced, if not the worst, in my online experiences since the late 90s. The game itself gets an 8, but it loses 2 points for the poor fandom. Tools such as grimtools aren't particularly good either. d3planner puts it to shame. For those who are yet to try the game, don't expect a legendary item to drop until you are either clvl 50 or very close. 99% of drops are fillers and good drops very far between. Vendors in game are hard locked behind reputation, so mostly unhelpful to character advancement. It's a real shame, the game has a lot of potential. It's what I'd call a mixture of D2R and PoE. The story is OK. Visuals and music/sound are both excellent. »
« Gets extremely repetitive after a while, I think it's a well made game, but frankly it just goes on and on and on... on the other hand I also didn't like the lack of conveyance to the player as to where I needed to go. Most of the objectives are not marked in the map, you have to open the quest menu in order to get an idea as to where to go, which begs the question, Why not just have a waypoint after all? It's a strange game, it has some really good things, and some really bad things. Straight to the middle. »
« Dawn of Terror is definitely an excellent game, both in terms of gameplay and overall gaming experience. I hope this game will keep getting better and better! »
« Great RPG, although very grindy and repetitive. Grim Dawn is a great game and a satisfying RPG that plays very straightforward and easy. Like other RPG's, you control a character, defeat monsters and bosses, level up, spend skill points and complete quests. It is as classic as it will ever be. Grim Dawn has some unique features, however. In Grim Dawn, you play as a character that has been possessed by the Aetherials and cured by the survivors of Devils Crossing. You start your adventure and fight against the forces of the dead, demons and other vile beasts. Like any classic RPG, your goal is to save the world and be the ultimate hero of the realms. Some unique elements in Grim Dawn include the crafting system. You find components and blueprints throughout the game and can create relics and gear at the blacksmith. You also make choices in the game by responding differently to NPCs and quest givers. This can result in different outcomes. There is also a unique skill system in which you can multiclass and combine certain skills and damage type. My favorite is a Shaman Soldier Tank combo which obliterates everything with force and Thunder. In your adventures, you come across totems that needs to be cleansed. When you did so, you receive a devotion point, which you can use for massive bonuses in one of the thirty-five skill trees under the stars. The graphics are nice, grim and dark, just the way it should be. The animations and ragdoll are great and shooting or hitting an enemy with a club looks satisfying. The sound is also great. The effects of weapons, and enemies sound solid, and the background music is atmospheric and relaxing. The interface and controls are the same as games like Diablo and Sacred and easy to understand. The inventory management is also self-explanatory. There are some problems with the game in my opinion: The stats on the items are ridiculous. There are a million trillion different stats that all do something. Some stats sound exactly the same but apparently do something different. When you pick up an item with 20 different stats on it, it is very hard to see if you should keep that item or not. Certain core stats like Strength or Spirit speak for themselves, but 12 different stats that can all combined do something unique, it just messes with my head. You can Earn Favor towards different factions (races and clans) to get better items, rewards and merchants. However, the progression of these favors is so incredibly slow, it feels like the ultimate grind of a thousand years. Another slight problem for me is that the (mini) boss fights are very repetitive and mindless. You just whack them endlessly until they die. There is not some strategy, some attack window or game plan (with the exception of one boss). Just hack and pray. It gets repetitive really fast. This is one of those games that you need to keep playing for years and years to fully complete. Not necessarily because of the endless content, but rather because of the inhumane grind for levels, renown status and special items with low drop rates. In the end, the overall experience was great and the collecting of resources, iron, the levelling up, unlocking the totems and skill points kept me going and wondering what would happen next. The game can be a little mindless at times, but sometimes, a simple hack and slash game is all I need to relax. I would surely recommend this game. »
« it is an alright game nothing special about it the gameplay is finde, the story very boring »
« Feels very repetitive. You just spam spells on mobs of monsters. Quit the game after 5 hours in. »
