« Final Fantasy Tactics no es solo uno de los mejores subproductos de su franquicia, sino una de las obras cumbre del rol táctico y una clase magistral de narrativa madura en el medio. Alejándose de los tropos habituales de la fantasía ligera, el juego sumerge al jugador en la Guerra de los Leones, un conflicto crudo e impío inspirado en la Inglaterra medieval, donde la Iglesia, la nobleza y la traición política tejen un argumento fascinante que no teme explorar los matices más grises de la moralidad y la lucha de **** genialidad no se queda en las palabras: el sistema de juego es un prodigio de profundidad estratégica que sigue sintiéndose sumamente adictivo. El pilar central es su complejísimo sistema de "Jobs" (oficios), que permite combinar clases y habilidades con una flexibilidad ridícula, ofreciendo un lienzo casi infinito para la experimentación táctica en unos mapas diorámicos tridimensionales que exigen tener en cuenta tanto la elevación como la posición. La guinda del pastel la pone la banda sonora de Hitoshi Sakimoto y Masaharu Iwata, una delicia orquestal melancólica que eleva la tensión de cada turno. Sus únicos deslices radican en picos de dificultad absurdamente brutales y mal calculados (que pueden arruinar una partida si guardas la partida en el momento equivocado) y una gestión de la cámara que en determinados escenarios se vuelve algo engorrosa. Con todo, el peso del tiempo no ha hecho más que consolidar su estatus de leyenda; es un drama político impecable y un desafío táctico tan gratificante que sigue siendo el estándar de oro por el que se mide a todo su género. »

« A beautifully woven story of friendship, romance, lineage and betrayal set amongst one of the most immersive worlds the Final Fantasy universe has ever offered us. The characters make you question whether things are ever Black & White. Perhaps everything is just a shade of grey depending on the lighting. I've never felt more divided on what constitutes justice. Without giving away any of the story just know that this game will linger in the recesses of your mind and morality for years to come. Oh, and the combat and job systems are absolute perfection.
