Publié le 27 août 2020, Control: Ultimate Edition réunit le jeu original de tir et d'aventure en troisième personne développé par Remedy Entertainment et édité par 505 Games avec ses deux extensions, « La Fondation » et « AWE », dans un pack au prix de 39,99 euros. Le titre, propulsé par le moteur Northlight, place le joueur dans le Bureau Fédéral de Contrôle envahi par une présence maléfique, où il utilise des pouvoirs télékinétiques et une arme aux propriétés multiples pour repousser l'ennemi et explorer des environnements changeants à la recherche de son frère disparu. Disponible sur une large palette de plateformes allant du PC aux consoles de génération actuelle et passée, le jeu affiche un temps de parcours d'environ onze heures et demie pour l'histoire principale et vingt-neuf heures pour une approche complétiste. Lauréat de plus de 80 récompenses, Control: Ultimate Edition obtient un score de 85 sur Metacritic et 84 sur OpenCritic, pour une note agrégée de 85,74. La presse a salué le travail du studio, comme en témoignent les éloges de Quarter to Three évoquant un « chef-d'œuvre » mêlant gameplay chaotique et narration, ou de Press Start Australia qualifiant le titre de « meilleur travail » de Remedy. « I don’t want to use the word masterpiece lightly, but what else do you call the combination of gleefully chaotic gameplay with earnest storytelling in a setting as refreshingly unique as Bioshock? What else do you call a combat system that goes so far beyond the simple act of shooting a gun without drilling down into a set of intricate menus and complicated controls? What else do you call darkly malevolent horror that doesn’t feel like it was cribbed from someplace else? What else do you call the crowning achievement of a studio with a unique voice, an uneven track record, and 25 years of experience? If there’s a better word to describe what Remedy has achieved with Control, I can’t think of it. »

« I probably understood only half of the crazy story and will have to watch a few explanation videos later, but I was still completely hooked by it. The cold, eerie atmosphere and the overall vibe kept pulling me deeper into the mystery.I also loved the live-action videos featuring Dr. Casper Darling. They were easily some of my favorite parts of the **** gameplay was decent overall. The various powers and weapons were fun to use, but the combat started to wear on me after a while. It didn't help that some of the bosses felt like bullet sponges and dragged on much longer than they needed to. »

« Incredibly uniquely game design and story. Most of the visuals and puzzles are amazing. Super unique gaming expierences all throughout the game. But some sidemissions being very lackluster of just being fetch quests or throwing something in something else like the what a mess missions. Which all drag and the amount of time spent trying to figure out where that last thing is or how to get into a room because of how useless the map is is a rough time. The lack of a final boss or a super crazy mission being the final mission is kind of disappointing. Yes the big climax is supposed to be the maze and then take control mission after is really interesting, but then to do such a generic boring mission for the finale still ****. The repitiveness of the enemies is also disappointing as some of the few enemies we do get are so unique and fun. So close to being a 9 with such small tweaks. »
