Welcome to the Journey
A journey told through places, people, and moments. This is a slow travel experience where you travel by train, step into new cities, and decide how to spend your time — exploring locations, meeting locals, visiting landmarks, or simply observing the world around you.
There are no timers pushing you forward and no perfect routes to follow. Your journey unfolds through small choices, quiet discoveries, and meaningful moments.
Choose your Character
Each character experiences the journey in their own way. Their interests define which places bring them the most happiness. Some enjoy culture and history. Others prefer food, nature, social moments, or adventure. Choosing a character means choosing how you want to travel.
Travel By Train
The train is your main hub during the journey. Here you can relax, talk to passengers, eat, and prepare for the next stop. Many discoveries begin on the train — through conversations and shared stories.
Discover Places Though People
Not all destinations appear on the map. Many places are discovered through conversations, brochures, and stories. Talking to people is one of the most important ways to learn where to go next. Some locations stay hidden until you hear about them. Curiosity often leads to the most memorable moments.
Explore the City Map
Choose where to go next. When you arrive at a city, you can step off the train and explore. The city map shows places you can visit — both known and unknown. When you arrive at a city, you can step off the train and explore. The city map shows places you can visit — both known and unknown.
Visit Places of Interest
Every place offers a unique experience. Each location has its own story, atmosphere, and activities. Some places invite you to explore deeply, others to simply observe. How much you enjoy a place depends on your character’s preferences. The more meaningful the visit, the more happiness you gain.
Capture Moments and Stories
Memories matter more than efficiency. Some places allow you to take photos or collect stories. These moments become part of your journey and your diary. Not every experience needs to be optimized. Some memories are valuable simply because they happened.
Rest, Eat, and Slow Down
Taking care of yourself is part of the journey. Travel isn’t only about moving forward. Eating, resting, and slowing down help maintain your happiness. Hunger won’t end your journey, but ignoring it will affect how you feel. Don't forget to stock up on food and visit train shop to keep your character's satisfaction level high.
Hotels and Rest
A place to pause and reset. As evening comes, most places in the city close. Hotels are a safe place to slow down, rest, and prepare for the next day. Here you can: Sleep until morning, eat at the restaurant, take a short walk nearby. Resting doesn’t give bonus happiness, but it helps stabilize your journey and keeps your rhythm balanced.
Keep Your Travel Diary
Your journey is written as you go. Your travel diary records what you discover: places, photos, badges, and memorable moments. Some pages stay empty — waiting for future trips. Others slowly fill with experiences worth remembering.

Spring Update: Feedback Needed
Hey everyone,I have learned a massive amount during the lead-up to Steam Next Fest. To be completely transparent: I originally thought we could participate without a public demo, but I quickly realized that a demo is essential for the full Next Fest experience.I want to apologize for the confusion! Because of the way Steam's sales scheduling works with our game release, we were not able to participate in the Spring Sale (March 19 – March 26).However, we are using this time to polish the experience, and I’m excited to announce that we will be part of the Steam Summer Sale (June 25 – July 9) with a launch discount! What’s coming next:New Feedback: I am wanting to get more feedback from impressions from playing the game. Let us know in the comments what feedback you might have.Feedback Roadmap: I am finalizing a detailed look at our path to 1.0, including the feedback to transition to human-made art. I also want to introduce a new rail corridor in the game from a Mountain Rail corridor.YouTube Content: Look for "behind-the-scenes" videos on the development process and the transit history of Colorado.Merch Store: We’ll soon have ways for you to represent the Colorado Rail Game (and support our Ukrainian dev team) off-screen!Thank you for sticking with us as we navigate our first Steam launch. We’re building this one track at a time! Blake
