Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Kazooie

« Cute, funny and continuously enchanting - it's what good gaming is all about. »
« A more complex, more fluid, and more attractive game than its plumber predecessor ["Super Mario 64"]. It’s sure to have even the staunchest N64 critics raising their eyebrows. »
« A breath of fresh air, a wonderful diversion, a good use of puzzle-solving energy. It’s like "Mario 64," but better. Any improvement over a game that got little but perfect ratings when it was released is an improvement to be applauded. »
« Features the best graphics we've seen on the console, it one-ups Mario 64 in terms of gameplay, it sounds astounding and it may just be the most clever title we've ever played. »
« This 3D polygon world is absolutely astounding. »
« The kind of game that sends reviewers thumbing through their thesaurus in search of new words to describe its greatness. I can honestly say that it’s as true today as it was the day of release. »
« Graphically, Banjo-Kazooie takes it to another level. The game maintains the look and feel of Mario 64, but instead of flat, shaded polygons, BK uses a lot of textures. »
« The finest, most polished, most complex and satisfying action-adventure videogame I've ever played...It blew me away because I was still swept up by its fairy tale-light, Disney-esque, bogusness, in spite of all my resistance. »

« I finally decided to play this game and man, this is a fantastic game with amazing level design, charming characters, and a fantastic soundtrack. The only things I didn’t like is the end because that’s where it gets brutally difficult with Grunty’s Furnace Fun which gives you completely random questions, so it’s entirely RNG and I just wonder why they made us do this before fighting Gruntilda herself, who actually has a great final boss. But anyway, fantastic game and highly recommend. »
« Uno de los mejores plataformas de la historia y de la N64, un excelente juego divertido, con musica y personajes memorables »
« Even in 2026, Banjo-Kazooie is full of the kind of whimsical charm that was the hallmark of Rare's catalogue on the N64. While its moment-to-moment gameplay is quite good, the silliness of the world and its denizens carries this game so far that I believe it is still enjoyable to play through today. While it is showing its age, I would say that Banjo-Kazooie is still worth a playthrough, if only to experience the heights that Rareware reached in the late 90s. »
« It was not really very fun, I KNOW it is many people's favorite game, but i played it and, i believe my cartridge was broken in someway too, but the game also just had way to much mechanics and items and.... Lets say in Mario 64 to 100% the game you gotta collect 6 stars in every level, now here you gotta collect 100 notes, 10 Jiggy's, 5 jimbo's and a bunch of mumbo's, now THAT is way to much for me to enjoy a game. »

« This game has set SO many bars for my expectations in Adventure Platformer games. True to the basic run around and collect items formula discovered in the N64 era, every collectible feels worth collecting. No collectible feels terribly tedious and after playing this game for decades you see a flow to optimizing collect-as-you-play. The worlds feel big but not too big for how fast Banjo traverses. The music in every level is catchy and does a cool environmental change depending on where the protagonist is (e.g. music sound different underwater). Banjo-Kazooie is one of my top 5 recommended games on the N64. »
« Just exceptional. I completed this recently having played it as a kid but never finishing it. It more than holds up today and is brilliant in pretty much every way - the music, the characters, the script, the gameplay. I laughed and smiled and was engaged throughout, and not many games can do that for the entire game. »
« Fun. silly, unique. A fond memory of my childhood. The creativity behind each level is great: Treasure Trove Cove, Mad Monster Mansion, Click Clock Wood, etc. Gruntilda is such a funny villain »
