World's Scariest Police Chases
World's Scariest Police Chases

« This game is fun, addictive and fast-paced. It may not be entirely original, but it does hold its own in the world of PS driving sims. »
« If you do a good job, you might even get a free donut or two. »
« An entertaining, mission-based driver with hilarious commentary and fairly engrossing gameplay. This is definitely a sleeper hit for the aging PlayStation. »
« It's unoriginal-original and very frustrating playing tedious mission after mission with little reward. »
« I had high hopes for this game, and it's been pretty much exactly what I was expecting. »
« The thing that makes this game so bad is that it could have been so good. Improve the graphics, touch-up the controls and fix the multiplayer mode and you'd have a decent game. »
« Despite my instinct to reel from anything that has a TV or movie-license attached to it, World's Scariest Police Chases is not a bad game. »
« Within the respective missions, computer cars often take the same route every time you chase them. Secondly, once you've completed the 20 missions, there's little else offered. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« The idea of being a police car that's only purpose is to get into high-speed chases and stop perpetrators by ramming into them until their car breaks sounds awesome... until you realize that the game could be so much better. That's literally all you do in this game: you chase after a car, you drive into them until their meter fills all the way up, and then it says, "Suspect Apprehended" and forgets about what just happened. It would be so much cooler to actually be the officer and simulate arresting the suspect and taking him to jail. It would be a bit more realistic. Here's the main thing that REALLY makes the game frustrating. You'd better be really good at driving games and put your pedal to the floor if you want a shot at this. If you make one wrong turn or a slight mistake/oversight when chasing someone, you have approximately 3 seconds to get back in range before you fail the mission or the suspect gets away. Even if you can still see the car or are on your way back into pursuit, the game will just fail you without giving you enough time. What a crock of ****. »
I didn't get to know this game back in the PS1 days, but when I found out the premise was playing as a police officer — and that it was inspired by the Driver franchise, which I’ve always thought was excellent — I got really interested. The nighttime atmosphere in the game is quite dark, which creates a cool vibe, although visibility can be a bit limited. The gameplay feels a bit clunky at first, but you get used to it after a while. One strong point is the variety of missions: from intense car chases with shootouts to more cautious situations where you need to avoid harming civilians, since the stolen vehicle might have innocent people inside. It’s a game with a simple concept, but a very effective one, delivering an engaging and unique experience for an action title of that era. »
« too scary »
« good game even on PlayStation it has several cool visual effects and good gameplay. It's hard to see a PS1 game with such good physics »
« I absolutely love this game, the physics are incredible for the time and the missions are fun »
« World's Scariest Police Chases, I liked the tv show (1997–2002) and I liked the game! The game lets you drive your car and shooting at criminals at the same time, it's a hard thing to pull of but once you succeed it's very satisfying. The narrating in WSPC is done by sheriff John Bunnell, just like in the tv show, which is a really nice touch. There's also a two player co-op mode where one player drives the car while the second player shoots at the bad guys. This game isn't easy, because slamming your police car into the criminal's car could end up in your car catching fire and it's end of the mission. World's Scariest Police Chases should definitely be remade for the PS3 or PS4, with better graphics but with the same true to the tv show gameplay. I rate this game 8 out of 10. »
