American Fugitive
American Fugitive

« An accomplished homage to GTA games of old with some interesting mechanics. Sometimes less is indeed more. We're going to go the distance with this one. »
« A likeable, car chase-riddled sandbox crime spree that updates the original pre-3D Grand Theft Auto games into a more modern play experience. »
« American Fugitive is an exceptional open world playground for dumb fun, but it fails to capitalise on that when tailored mission design is brought into the fold. One too many repetitive objectives drag the experience down to a crawl, but for some, the narrative will be just about enough to make it worthwhile. »
« American Fugitive is an enjoyable homage to GTA of the distant past, with a good deal of content and a story that does a good — if rarely memorable — job of moving game through its paces. Some regrettable mechanics and repetition in mission design steal some of the game’s good will but American Fugitive is engaging simply for competently exploring an under-represented genre and style. »
« Although Fallen Tree Games is a small studio who mostly focused on mobile games until now, they managed to develop a great title using ideas and mechanisms that used to entertain us a lot, and if not for a few shortcomings here and there (probably because of budget limits) it could have done even better. »
« Ultimately, American Fugitive lives and dies by its gameplay. Driving around and tearing through Redrock County is fun, destructive, and weirdly cathartic. Casing buildings and barely escaping before the police show up is breathtakingly thrilling. Past those two parts of the gameplay, however, there’s not much of substance to hold onto. American Fugitive is a quirky and fun open-world sandbox, but if you expect a bit more from games that tackle Grand Theft Auto’s legacy, you’ll be left wanting. »
« A charmingly old-fashioned crime epic, American Fugitive's ambitious intentions are summarily undercut by a raft of poor design decisions and technical issues. »
« A new game in the vein of GTA Chinatown Wars is something that should work quite well, but while American Fugitive has some good ideas it fails to deliver on the execution, especially with the Switch version's wonky frame rate. American Fugitive takes the promise it had, prangs it on a lamp post, and gives it a wanted level. »
Avis des Joueurs (Metacritic)
« American Fugitive takes clear inspiration from classic GTA games but adds its own style. It features theft, car chases, gunfights, and light RPG elements like character progression and intimidation. The story is decent, though not particularly surprising. This is a solid mid-tier title that offers a few hours of fun. It does not reinvent the genre, but fans of top-down action games will likely enjoy it. »
« Not a bad game with GTA Chinatown Wars coming to my mind. Too bad that the graphics is decent andthe game is still locked at 30 FPS on PS5! Pretty much of glitches here and there as well. Platinumum in like 25-30 hours. »
« Best thing about this game is it's looks, everything else seems half-baked including some questionable design choices like NO MINI MAP, no sensitivity options for controls, no location names even though there are collectables that you are specifically told are in certain locations leaving no alternative but to run around the map aimlessly hoping your heading in the right direction. Missions are very boring and repetitive the majority feel no deeper than fetch quests. »
« Crash. Crash. Crash. I can't manage to play for longer then 20 minutes at a time. I've completed only a hand full of mission in several hours of attempting to play. It's a base ps4, I don't know if the pro is having similar issues. Fun. The game is a lot of fun, before the crashes. It's on the back burner till an update corrects the problems. And its worth the return. »
