Void Bastards
Void Bastards

« The thrill of the unpredictable was the driving force behind this charming and spirited rogue-like heister. »
« Void Bastards is a terrific game that balances the joy of exploration with the fear of failure in a wonderful way. It could use some more incentives to keep playing, but it's a blast while it lasts. »
« Void Bastards is a pure, crystalline distillation of the immersive sim genre - all the feeling with none of the fluff. Full of variables, it invites the player to experiment and be experimented upon. »
« This is a game that takes the side activities in BioShock and puts its full weight behind it. If you’ve ever hoarded every useless scrap of paper and loose cigarette in other games, Void Bastards will reward you. It’s a constant cycle of upgrading your character and venturing deeper into the void while you find new rooms and tougher challenges. Best of all, there’s a definitive end alongside the promise of a harder difficulty. It’s everything you could want in a procedural shooter, bridging the gap between action and strategy in an innovative new way that makes it easy to want to jump into the void over and over again. »
« Void Bastards is a hyper-polished work of art. If the only complaint I have is that there should be more of it, they’re clearly doing something right. I’m very excited to see where this developer goes next. »
« Void Bastards does a lot for such a small game — layered elements building a player experience where approach must always be varied and considered. The formula is simple — the ship computer asks you to procure items, you go find the items. In this sense, I thought I would find the game boring after awhile, but it’s actually surprisingly addictive, each wreck a new excitement-filled run, as you try to grab what you can, improvise on your feet, and most importantly, stay alive! Its simplicity is part of the appeal, but it also packages plenty of dark humour and absurd fun to go along with the ride. If you enjoy indie rogue-likes, or space scavenger hunts, the Void Ark awaits. »
« Void Bastards is a fun and fresh mix between classic first-person shooter and modern roguelikes. Focusing on giving the player more problems than punishments, Blue Manchu has crafted a game that is fun from the beginning to the end. Furthermore, its aesthetics and graphics are simply gorgeous. One of the greatest surprises of 2019 so far. »
« The mix of comic-book aesthetics, exhilarating soundtrack, and solid shooter gameplay make Void Bastards an absolute delight. Sprinkle that with a bucketload of dark humor and bizarrely mutated enemies and you get an incredibly addictive game, which forces you to go through the same gameplay loop over and over again. »

« While you will get enjoyment and value out of it; you're going to have to work for your entertainment, because this game is not interested in working to bring it to you. »
« Its pretty good. I sunk some hours into this one. Its probably the only decent shooter offline on switch lite. I beat the loop like 5-6 times before I set it down. The art style and setting is unique and the humor is pretty good too. Eventually the loops run its course and you don't necessarily see every combination the game has to offer but once you get as deep as it goes its just to crazy to me really. I feel like I absolutely can’t win or grab the key item on those levels because the parameters are just to tight. »
« Void **** is an overall good and certainly unique game that uses some interesting ideas to its gameplay and presentation. It combines some first person shooting with a lot of scavenging/looting, some strategy elements and a lot of crafting. The graphics and combat though having a really unique artstyle can feel a bit underwhelming. It is a good game but it is certainly not on the same level with some of the games it takes inspiration from. »
« Slow start but once you get the hang of the thing it gets fun. But overall stays pretty much the same. Finished in 7h »
« Could've been a great game, but the creators were so hell-bent on making this game old school they had completely abandoned any common sense. So you're telling me that someone is freeing those prisoners only to send them on missions almost butt-naked, with no medicaments, a five minute worth of oxygen and only a handful of ammo, yet that someone expects them to succeed? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. For a game that seems so keen on reviving the old school spirit of games like System Shock and Bioshock, it certainly doubles down on their negative aspects, yet offers little to no positives, which is the exact opposite of what a good spiritual successor is meant to do. »
« It's a "wait for sales". Entertaining procedural first person shooter, that mix simple action with a tad of resources managment and enemy avoidance. Wrapped in a nice, alternative, visual style. The best bits is his clever, deadpan humor that reminds of Paranoia pen and paper rpg. The less appealing parts are: poor replayability and monotonous gameplay. It suffer from few enemies, few maps, few things to do, repetitive crafting and recycled misson objectives. it's a good product, if you can find it cheap ; i got it for free on Epic giveaway, »
« Super duper fun game , highly recommended!!! From System Shock creator!!! You can change difficulty if too hard !!! 10/10 »
« Think of this game as if FTL was an FPS. I absolutely loved the world building, lore and the atmosphere and the British accent and humor really made it stand out. The only thing I didn't like was that the UX suffered a bit due to the comic like UI. Also, I started loving this game more when I started playing at as an actual roguelite and not as Borderlands. You do NOT need to loot everything on a ship. Take what you need and move on! »
